O autor da epístola reitera que os sacrifícios de animais e a Antiga Aliança eram inferiores à Nova Aliança. No entanto, ainda somos chamados a oferecer continuamente sacrifícios de louvor a Deus. É claro que nossos sacrifícios não significariam nada sem o sacrifício fundamental que Cristo Jesus já fez. Ele é o fundamento da nossa fé e todos os sacrifícios devem ser oferecidos por meio da fé Nele.
O apóstolo lista os sacrifícios agradáveis a Deus. Em primeiro lugar, devemos oferecer louvor e dar graças ao Seu nome. Dar graças ao Seu nome significa confessar o Seu nome. É agradável a Deus quando confessamos aberta e voluntariamente Seu nome e nossa fé Nele. Hebreus 10:23 nos diz para "manter firme a confissão de nossa esperança sem vacilar, pois aquele que prometeu é fiel". O livro de Hebreus é um chamado para nos mantermos firmes na fé e terminarmos bem a carreira, perseverando até o fim. A demonstração da nossa fé é um sacrifício agradável a Deus.
Deus também se agrada quando fazemos o bem. No início deste capítulo, o autor da cartra instrui os crentes a permanecer no amor fraternal. É agradável a Deus quando fazemos o bem aos nossos irmãos crentes e compartilhamos o que temos com eles e com outros. Promover o amor fraternal ajuda os crentes a permanecerem fiéis e a terminarem bem a carreira ("teleo").
