Everyone wants to live the best life possible. How can a person find God's best for his life? The Bible tells us that God wants to give us our heart's desires.

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he shall give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).

What steps must we take to find God's best for our lives?

A Person Must Trust Christ As Savior

The first thing God expects from us is belief. We are to believe that He exists and that He has revealed Himself in the person of Jesus Christ. It is only through faith in Jesus that a person can come to God.

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

We Then Can Develop A Relationship With God

Once a person has made the step of faith by believing in Christ as Savior, he then becomes a child of God. Then the individual begins to develop a personal relationship with God. To do this, the believer must take time to study God's Word. The believer is instructed to study the Bible:

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

A careful study of the Scripture will help the person determine what it is that God expects from him. The Bible records God's commands and the promises He makes to those who trust Him.

Faith Must Be Continually Exercised

The main thing that God is looking for in the believer is faith. He has promised to bless those who trust Him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5,6).

The believer continually acknowledges God and receives those good gifts the Lord has promised. Believing God, developing a personal relationship with Him based on faith in Christ-these are the steps required for experiencing God's best for life.

Summary

For a person finds God's best for his life he must do the following: Believe in Christ as his Savior. The believer should then develop a close, intimate, communicating, personal relationship with God. He does this by studying God's Word to find out what God requires and then to believe and apply the promises God has given.
