The Bible teaches that Jesus existed before He came to earth as a human. Scripture also tells us some of the things that He did before He became human.
He Is The Creator
Jesus was the Creator of the universe.
All things were made through him, and without him nothing was made that was made (John 1:3).
Paul wrote.
For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him (Colossians 1:16).
Jesus Preserved The Universe
Jesus not only created the universe and framed the various ages, He also preserved His creation. Paul wrote.
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together (Colossians 1:17).
The writer to the Hebrews said.
SummaryThe son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven (Hebrews 1:3).
Jesus has been God from all eternity. He was not inactive before He came to earth. The Bible says that Jesus was the Creator of the universe, and also preserved His creation. Consequently we find Him active before He came to earth as a human being. He continues to preserve the universe until this day.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
