If you are running the BLB app on an Apple device that is using iOS 6.1 or older and are experiencing restriction issues with BLB online content, it is due to the replacement of the older SHA-1 certificates on our servers.
This is due to the discovery of weaknesses in the SHA-1 algorithm and older devices being unable to authenticate our new certificate.
To resolve this, please copy the following link and open it from a browser on your older iOS device to install the Root CA certificate.
http://blb.org/certs/thawte-G2-CA.pem
(Note: Some devices may appear differently than the example shown.)
The first screen will show that the certificate is 'Not Trusted' or 'Not Verified'. On some devices the "Install" button will be in the top right of that screen. If so, you will need to just tap "Install".
If not, continue following the steps below...
Next you will tap "More Details".
Now tap on "thawte Primary Root CA - G3".
Now you may tap on "Install" in the upper right hand corner.
Once it is installed it will say 'Trusted'.
Now that the new certificate has been installed the online content will be available in the app.
Why Google is Hurrying the Web to Kill SHA-1
