Sarah’s husband was Erich John Findlater, Free Church of Scotland pastor at Lochernhead, Perthshire, Scotland. In 1855, Sarah and her sister Jane Laurie Borthwick co-produced a book of translations of German hymns titled Hymns from the Land of Luther.
