Hymns Supplied Through the Gracious Generosity
of the Cyber Hymnal Website
Words: Benjamin Beddome; appeared posthumously in Hymns Adapted to Public Worship, 1817.
Music: "Marlow," John Chetham, Book of Psalmody, 1718
How great the wisdom, power and grace,
Which in redemption shine!
The heavenly host with joy confess
The work is all divine.
Before His feet they cast their crowns,
Those crowns which Jesus gave,
And, with ten thousand tongues,
Proclaim His power to save.
They tell the triumphs of His cross,
The sufferings which He bore;
How low He stooped, how high He rose,
And rose to stoop no more.
With them let us our voices raise,
And still the song renew,
Salvation well deserves the praise
Of men and angels, too.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
