“Yet as I live and as the whole earth is filled with the LORD's glory,

“Tell them: As I live ​— ​this is the LORD's declaration ​— ​I will do to you exactly as I heard you say.

“I raise my hand to heaven and declare:

As surely as I live forever,

“Look up, and look around.

They all gather together; they come to you.

As I live” —

this is the LORD's declaration —

“you will wear all your children[fn] as jewelry,

and put them on as a bride does.

As I live ​— ​the declaration of the Lord GOD ​— ​I will reign over you with a strong hand, an outstretched arm, and outpoured wrath.

Tell them, ‘As I live ​— ​this is the declaration of the Lord GOD ​— ​I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked person should turn from his way and live. Repent, repent of your evil ways! Why will you die, house of Israel? '

“Tell them this: ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: As surely as I live, those who are in the ruins will fall by the sword, those in the open field I have given to wild animals to be devoured, and those in the strongholds and caves will die by plague.

this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies,

the God of Israel —

Moab will be like Sodom

and the Ammonites like Gomorrah:

a place overgrown with weeds,

a salt pit, and a perpetual wasteland.

The remnant of my people will plunder them;

the remainder of my nation will dispossess them.
