Jacob became angry with Rachel and said, “Am I in the place of God? He has withheld offspring[fn] from you! ”

Then Moses inquired carefully about the male goat of the sin offering, but it had already been burned up. He was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's surviving sons, and asked,

Now the people began complaining openly before[fn] the LORD about hardship. When the LORD heard, his anger burned, and fire from the LORD blazed among them and consumed the outskirts of the camp.

When Saul heard these words, the Spirit of God suddenly came powerfully on him, and his anger burned furiously.

“At Naioth in Ramah,” someone said.

Then the LORD's anger burned against Uzzah, and God struck him dead on the spot for his irreverence, and he died there next to the ark of God.

Then the messenger left.

When he arrived, he reported to David all that Joab had sent him to tell.

David was infuriated with the man and said to Nathan, “As the LORD lives, the man who did this deserves to die!

When King David heard about all these things, he was furious.[fn]

Then the earth shook and quaked;

the foundations of the heavens[fn] trembled;

they shook because he burned with anger.

But Naaman got angry and left, saying, “I was telling myself: He will surely come out, stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the skin disease.

Uzziah, with a firepan in his hand to offer incense, was enraged. But when he became enraged with the priests, in the presence of the priests in the LORD's temple beside the altar of incense, a skin disease broke out on his forehead.

When Haman saw that Mordecai was not bowing down or paying him homage, he was filled with rage.

That day Haman left full of joy and in good spirits.[fn] But when Haman saw Mordecai at the King's Gate, and Mordecai didn't rise or tremble in fear at his presence, Haman was filled with rage toward Mordecai.

But when he saw that the three men could not answer Job, he became angry.

Therefore the LORD's anger burned against his people.

He raised his hand against them and struck them;

the mountains quaked,

and their corpses were like garbage in the streets.

In all this, his anger has not turned away,

and his hand is still raised to strike.
