“Do not act unjustly when deciding a case. Do not be partial to the poor or give preference to the rich; judge your neighbor fairly.
“The decree the king issues will be heard throughout his vast kingdom, so all women will honor their husbands, from the greatest to the least.”
For he has not despised or abhorred
the torment of the oppressed.
He did not hide his face from him
but listened when he cried to him for help.
The one who mocks the poor insults his Maker,
and one who rejoices over calamity
will not go unpunished.
The LORD brings this charge
against the elders and leaders of his people:
“You have devastated the vineyard.
The plunder from the poor is in your houses.
