LXX Concordance for αὐτός

I will put hostility between you and the woman,

and between your offspring and her offspring.[fn]

He will strike your head,

and you will strike his heel.

“Didn't he himself say to me, ‘She is my sister'? And she herself said, ‘He is my brother.' I did this with a clear conscience[fn] and clean[fn] hands.”

These are the family records of Esau (that is, Edom).

So Esau (that is, Edom) lived in the mountains of Seir.

He left all that he owned under Joseph's authority;[fn] he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.

Now Joseph was well-built and handsome.

“He and I had dreams on the same night; each dream had its own meaning.

Joseph remembered his dreams about them and said to them, “You are spies. You have come to see the weakness[fn] of the land.”

Then the LORD's anger burned against Moses, and he said, “Isn't Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, he is on his way now to meet you. He will rejoice when he sees you.

But God was incensed that Balaam was going, and the angel of the LORD took his stand on the path to oppose him. Balaam was riding his donkey, and his two servants were with him.

“but remember that the LORD your God gives you the power to gain wealth, in order to confirm his covenant he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

“Furthermore, the Eternal One of Israel does not lie or change his mind, for he is not man who changes his mind.”

Then the king ordered the guards standing by him, “Turn and kill the priests of the LORD because they sided with David. For they knew he was fleeing, but they didn't tell me.” But the king's servants would not lift a hand to execute the priests of the LORD.

While Obadiah was walking along the road, Elijah suddenly met him. When Obadiah recognized him, he fell facedown and said, “Is it you, my lord Elijah? ”

Then Elijah approached all the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions?[fn] If the LORD is God, follow him. But if Baal, follow him.” But the people didn't answer him a word.

At noon Elijah mocked them. He said, “Shout loudly, for he's a god! Maybe he's thinking it over; maybe he has wandered away;[fn] or maybe he's on the road. Perhaps he's sleeping and will wake up! ”

Then the man of God approached and said to the king of Israel, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Because the Arameans have said, “The LORD is a god of the mountains and not a god of the valleys,” I will hand over all this whole huge army to you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.' ”

So King Joram returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds that the Arameans had inflicted on him in Ramoth-gilead[fn] when he fought against Aram's King Hazael. Then Judah's King Ahaziah son of Jehoram went down to Jezreel to visit Joram son of Ahab since Joram was ill.

David's uncle Jonathan was a counselor; he was a man of understanding and a scribe. Jehiel son of Hachmoni attended[fn] the king's sons.

He prayed to him, and the LORD was receptive to his prayer. He granted his request and brought him back to Jerusalem, to his kingdom. So Manasseh came to know that the LORD is God.

 ​— ​came up from Babylon. He was a scribe skilled in the law of Moses, which the LORD, the God of Israel, had given. The king had granted him everything he requested because the hand of the LORD his God was on him.

The earth[fn] is handed over to the wicked;

he blindfolds[fn] its judges.

If it isn't he, then who is it?

Who is he, this King of glory?

The LORD of Armies,

he is the King of glory.Selah

and the king will desire your beauty.

Bow down to him, for he is your lord.

Cast your burden on the LORD,

and he will sustain you;

he will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

For he is our God,

and we are the people of his pasture,

the sheep under his care.[fn]

Today, if you hear his voice:

Acknowledge that the LORD is God.

He made us, and we are his[fn]—

his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Can any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain?

Or can the skies alone give showers?

Are you not the LORD our God?

We therefore put our hope in you,

for you have done all these things.

“Make him drunk, because he has exalted himself against the LORD. Moab will wallow in his own vomit, and he will also become a laughingstock.

Jacob's Portion[fn] is not like these

because he is the one who formed all things.

Israel is the tribe of his inheritance;

the LORD of Armies is his name.

He is[fn] a bear waiting in ambush,

a lion in hiding.

The king said to Daniel, “Your God is indeed God of gods, Lord of kings, and a revealer of mysteries, since you were able to reveal this mystery.”

“I issue a decree that in all my royal dominion, people must tremble in fear before the God of Daniel:

For he is the living God,

and he endures forever;

his kingdom will never be destroyed,

and his dominion has no end.

“The shaggy goat represents the king of Greece, and the large horn between his eyes represents the first king.[fn]

On the twenty-fourth day of the first month,[fn] as I was standing on the bank of the great river, the Tigris,

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!

Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem!

Look, your King is coming to you;

he is righteous and victorious,[fn]

humble and riding on a donkey,

on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
