The birth of Jesus Christ came about this way: After his mother Mary had been engaged[fn] to Joseph, it was discovered before they came together that she was pregnant from the Holy Spirit.
After the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. They kept silent, and at that time told no one what they had seen.
“because this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found! ' So they began to celebrate.
“But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' ”
I wept and wept because no one was found worthy to open[fn] the scroll or even to look in it.
In her was found the blood of prophets and saints,
and of all those slaughtered on the earth.
Then I saw a great white throne and one seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.
