When the demon had been driven out, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowds were amazed, saying, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel! ”

Then he told them many things in parables, saying, “Consider the sower who went out to sow.

He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven[fn] that a woman took and mixed into fifty pounds[fn] of flour until all of it was leavened.”

Immediately Jesus spoke to them. “Have courage! It is I. Don't be afraid.”

Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples:

Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke with them and said, “Have courage! It is I. Don't be afraid.”

to Abraham and his descendants[fn] forever,

just as he spoke to our ancestors.

just as he spoke by the mouth

of his holy prophets in ancient times;

But they did not understand what he said to them.

Now he was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon came out, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowds were amazed.

“He is not here, but he has risen! Remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee,

The servants answered, “No man ever spoke like this! ”[fn]

Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

He spoke these words by the treasury, while teaching in the temple. But no one seized him, because his hour had not yet come.

“While you have the light, believe in the light so that you may become children of light.” Jesus said this, then went away and hid from them.

Isaiah said these things because[fn] he saw his glory and spoke about him.

Jesus spoke these things, looked up to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so that the Son may glorify you,
