Unchecked Copy BoxMar 2:24 - And the Pharisees were saying to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 2:25 - And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did, when he was in need and was hungry, he and those who were with him:
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 3:4 - And he said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 3:6 - The Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel with the Herodians against him, how to destroy him.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 3:8 - and Jerusalem and Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from around Tyre and Sidon. When the great crowd heard all that he was doing, they came to him.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 3:21 - And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, “He is out of his mind.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 3:22 - And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “by the prince of demons he casts out the demons.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 3:31 - And his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 3:32 - And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers[fn] are outside, seeking you.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 3:33 - And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 3:34 - And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 4:10 - And when he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 4:15 - And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 4:16 - And these are the ones sown on rocky ground: the ones who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 4:18 - And others are the ones sown among thorns. They are those who hear the word,
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 4:20 - But those that were sown on the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 5:12 - and they begged him, saying, “Send us to the pigs; let us enter them.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 5:14 - The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 5:16 - And those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and to the pigs.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 5:31 - And his disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, ‘Who touched me?'
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 6:1 - He went away from there and came to his hometown, and his disciples followed him.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 6:29 - When his disciples heard of it, they came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 6:30 - The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 6:31 - And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 6:33 - Now many saw them going and recognized them, and they ran there on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 6:35 - And when it grew late, his disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the hour is now late.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 6:44 - And those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 6:49 - but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out,
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 7:1 - Now when the Pharisees gathered to him, with some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem,
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 7:3 - (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands properly,[fn] holding to the tradition of the elders,
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 7:5 - And the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with defiled hands?”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 7:17 - And when he had entered the house and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 7:21 - For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 8:4 - And his disciples answered him, “How can one feed these people with bread here in this desolate place?”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 8:5 - And he asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 8:9 - And there were about four thousand people. And he sent them away.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 8:11 - The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, seeking from him a sign from heaven to test him.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 8:27 - And Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 8:28 - And they told him, “John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 9:11 - And they asked him, “Why do the scribes say that first Elijah must come?”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 9:28 - And when he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 9:32 - But they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 9:34 - But they kept silent, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:2 - And Pharisees came up and in order to test him asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:4 - They said, “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and to send her away.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:8 - and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two but one flesh.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:10 - And in the house the disciples asked him again about this matter.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:13 - And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:23 - And Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How difficult it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:24 - And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how difficult it is[fn] to enter the kingdom of God!
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:26 - And they were exceedingly astonished, and said to him,[fn] “Then who can be saved?”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:31 - But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:35 - And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said to him, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:37 - And they said to him, “Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:39 - And they said to him, “We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “The cup that I drink you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized,
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:41 - And when the ten heard it, they began to be indignant at James and John.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 10:42 - And Jesus called them to him and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 11:6 - And they told them what Jesus had said, and they let them go.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 11:9 - And those who went before and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 11:14 - And he said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 11:18 - And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 11:27 - And they came again to Jerusalem. And as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to him,
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 12:3 - And they took him and beat him and sent him away empty-handed.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 12:7 - But those tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.'
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 12:10 - Have you not read this Scripture:
“‘The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;[fn]
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 12:14 - And they came and said to him, “Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care about anyone's opinion. For you are not swayed by appearances,[fn] but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? Should we pay them, or should we not?”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 12:16 - And they brought one. And he said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” They said to him, “Caesar's.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 12:22 - And the seven left no offspring. Last of all the woman also died.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 12:23 - In the resurrection, when they rise again, whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as wife.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 12:25 - For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 12:35 - And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said, “How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 12:40 - who devour widows' houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 13:11 - And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 13:14 - “But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 13:25 - and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 13:31 - Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 13:32 - “But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:1 - It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to arrest him by stealth and kill him,
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:11 - And when they heard it, they were glad and promised to give him money. And he sought an opportunity to betray him.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:12 - And on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb, his disciples said to him, “Where will you have us go and prepare for you to eat the Passover?”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:16 - And the disciples set out and went to the city and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:40 - And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they did not know what to answer him.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:46 - And they laid hands on him and seized him.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:51 - And a young man followed him, with nothing but a linen cloth about his body. And they seized him,
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:53 - And they led Jesus to the high priest. And all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes came together.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:55 - Now the chief priests and the whole council[fn] were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:64 - You have heard his blasphemy. What is your decision?” And they all condemned him as deserving death.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:65 - And some began to spit on him and to cover his face and to strike him, saying to him, “Prophesy!” And the guards received him with blows.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 14:70 - But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders again said to Peter, “Certainly you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 15:1 - And as soon as it was morning, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council. And they bound Jesus and led him away and delivered him over to Pilate.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 15:3 - And the chief priests accused him of many things.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 15:10 - For he perceived that it was out of envy that the chief priests had delivered him up.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 15:11 - But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release for them Barabbas instead.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 15:13 - And they cried out again, “Crucify him.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 15:14 - And Pilate said to them, “Why? What evil has he done?” But they shouted all the more, “Crucify him.”
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 15:29 - And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads and saying, “Aha! You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 15:31 - So also the chief priests with the scribes mocked him to one another, saying, “He saved others; he cannot save himself.
Unchecked Copy BoxMar 15:32 - Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe.” Those who were crucified with him also reviled him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 1:2 - just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 1:58 - And her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 1:66 - and all who heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, “What then will this child be?” For the hand of the Lord was with him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 2:15 - When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 2:18 - And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 2:20 - And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 2:30 - for my eyes have seen your salvation
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 2:41 - Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 2:47 - And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 3:10 - And the crowds asked him, “What then shall we do?”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 4:20 - And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 4:42 - And when it was day, he departed and went into a desolate place. And the people sought him and came to him, and would have kept him from leaving them,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 5:2 - and he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 5:21 - And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 5:30 - And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 5:31 - And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 5:33 - And they said to him, “The disciples of John fast often and offer prayers, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 5:37 - And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:1 - On a Sabbath,[fn] while he was going through the grainfields, his disciples plucked and ate some heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:3 - And Jesus answered them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:7 - And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might find a reason to accuse him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:20 - And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:21 - “Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:22 - “Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:23 - Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:25 - “Woe to you who are full now, for you shall be hungry. “Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:26 - “Woe to you, when all people speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:31 - And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:32 - “If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:33 - And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 6:34 - And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 7:4 - And when they came to Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy to have you do this for him,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 7:10 - And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 7:11 - Soon afterward[fn] he went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a great crowd went with him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 7:14 - Then he came up and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 7:18 - The disciples of John reported all these things to him. And John,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 7:20 - And when the men had come to him, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to you, saying, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?'”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 7:25 - What then did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Behold, those who are dressed in splendid clothing and live in luxury are in kings' courts.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 7:29 - (When all the people heard this, and the tax collectors too, they declared God just,[fn] having been baptized with the baptism of John,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 7:30 - but the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.)
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 7:49 - Then those who were at table with him began to say among[fn] themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:1 - Soon afterward he went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:9 - And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:12 - The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:13 - And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:14 - And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:16 - “No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:19 - Then his mother and his brothers[fn] came to him, but they could not reach him because of the crowd.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:20 - And he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see you.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:21 - But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:22 - One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” So they set out,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:34 - When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:36 - And those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed[fn] man had been healed.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:42 - for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. As Jesus went, the people pressed around him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:45 - And Jesus said, “Who was it that touched me?” When all denied it, Peter[fn] said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 8:56 - And her parents were amazed, but he charged them to tell no one what had happened.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 9:10 - On their return the apostles told him all that they had done. And he took them and withdrew apart to a town called Bethsaida.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 9:11 - When the crowds learned it, they followed him, and he welcomed them and spoke to them of the kingdom of God and cured those who had need of healing.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 9:12 - Now the day began to wear away, and the twelve came and said to him, “Send the crowd away to go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find lodging and get provisions, for we are here in a desolate place.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 9:13 - But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish—unless we are to go and buy food for all these people.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 9:18 - Now it happened that as he was praying alone, the disciples were with him. And he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 9:19 - And they answered, “John the Baptist. But others say, Elijah, and others, that one of the prophets of old has risen.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 9:32 - Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they became fully awake they saw his glory and the two men who stood with him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 9:45 - But they did not understand this saying, and it was concealed from them, so that they might not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 9:54 - And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”[fn]
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 10:2 - And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 10:17 - The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 10:23 - Then turning to the disciples he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see!
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 11:14 - Now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke, and the people marveled.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 11:19 - And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 11:28 - But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 11:33 - “No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 11:39 - And the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 11:44 - Woe to you! For you are like unmarked graves, and people walk over them without knowing it.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 11:47 - Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 11:53 - As he went away from there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to press him hard and to provoke him to speak about many things,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 12:35 - “Stay dressed for action[fn] and keep your lamps burning,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 12:37 - Blessed are those servants[fn] whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 12:38 - If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them awake, blessed are those servants!
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 13:2 - And he answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way?
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 13:4 - Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem?
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 13:17 - As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 13:23 - And someone said to him, “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” And he said to them,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 13:27 - But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of evil!'
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 14:4 - But they remained silent. Then he took him and healed him and sent him away.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 14:29 - Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 15:1 - Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 15:2 - And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 15:16 - And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 16:8 - The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world[fn] are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 16:14 - The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 16:15 - And he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 16:16 - “The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone forces his way into it.[fn]
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 16:21 - who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 16:26 - And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.'
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 17:5 - The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 17:17 - Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine?
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 17:37 - And they said to him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the corpse[fn] is, there the vultures[fn] will gather.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 18:11 - The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed[fn] thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 18:15 - Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 18:24 - Jesus, seeing that he had become sad, said, “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 18:26 - Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 18:39 - And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 19:14 - But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.'
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 19:32 - So those who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 19:33 - And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 19:34 - And they said, “The Lord has need of it.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 19:40 - He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 19:43 - For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 19:47 - And he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people were seeking to destroy him,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:1 - One day, as Jesus[fn] was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes with the elders came up
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:5 - And they discussed it with one another, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,' he will say, ‘Why did you not believe him?'
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:10 - When the time came, he sent a servant[fn] to the tenants, so that they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:11 - And he sent another servant. But they also beat and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:12 - And he sent yet a third. This one also they wounded and cast out.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:14 - But when the tenants saw him, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir. Let us kill him, so that the inheritance may be ours.'
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:17 - But he looked directly at them and said, “What then is this that is written:
“‘The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone'?[fn]
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:19 - The scribes and the chief priests sought to lay hands on him at that very hour, for they perceived that he had told this parable against them, but they feared the people.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:27 - There came to him some Sadducees, those who deny that there is a resurrection,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:31 - and the third took her, and likewise all seven left no children and died.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:33 - In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife will the woman be? For the seven had her as wife.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:35 - but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 20:37 - But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the passage about the bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 21:15 - for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 21:21 - Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 21:33 - Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 22:2 - And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to put him to death, for they feared the people.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 22:9 - They said to him, “Where will you have us prepare it?”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 22:14 - And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 22:25 - And he said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those in authority over them are called benefactors.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 22:28 - “You are those who have stayed with me in my trials,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 22:35 - And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no moneybag or knapsack or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 22:38 - And they said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.” And he said to them, “It is enough.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 22:39 - And he came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 22:49 - And when those who were around him saw what would follow, they said, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 22:63 - Now the men who were holding Jesus in custody were mocking him as they beat him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 22:71 - Then they said, “What further testimony do we need? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 23:5 - But they were urgent, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee even to this place.”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 23:10 - The chief priests and the scribes stood by, vehemently accusing him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 23:21 - but they kept shouting, “Crucify, crucify him!”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 23:23 - But they were urgent, demanding with loud cries that he should be crucified. And their voices prevailed.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 23:35 - And the people stood by, watching, but the rulers scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!”
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 23:36 - The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and offering him sour wine
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 23:48 - And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home beating their breasts.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 23:49 - And all his acquaintances and the women who had followed him from Galilee stood at a distance watching these things.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 24:16 - But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 24:17 - And he said to them, “What is this conversation that you are holding with each other as you walk?” And they stood still, looking sad.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 24:19 - And he said to them, “What things?” And they said to him, “Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 24:20 - and how our chief priests and rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 24:25 - And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 24:31 - And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight.
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 24:42 - They gave him a piece of broiled fish,[fn]
Unchecked Copy BoxLuk 24:44 - Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 1:11 - He came to his own,[fn] and his own people[fn] did not receive him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 1:19 - And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 1:24 - (Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.)
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 1:37 - The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 1:38 - Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 1:45 - Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 2:2 - Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 2:9 - When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 2:11 - This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 2:12 - After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother and his brothers[fn] and his disciples, and they stayed there for a few days.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 2:17 - His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 2:18 - So the Jews said to him, “What sign do you show us for doing these things?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 2:20 - The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple,[fn] and will you raise it up in three days?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 2:22 - When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 3:19 - And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 3:22 - After this Jesus and his disciples went into the Judean countryside, and he remained there with them and was baptizing.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:1 - Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:2 - (although Jesus himself did not baptize, but only his disciples),
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:8 - (For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.)
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:12 - Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:20 - Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:23 - But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:27 - Just then his disciples came back. They marveled that he was talking with a woman, but no one said, “What do you seek?” or, “Why are you talking with her?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:31 - Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:33 - So the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:40 - So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:45 - So when he came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, having seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the feast. For they too had gone to the feast.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 4:51 - As he was going down, his servants[fn] met him and told him that his son was recovering.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 5:10 - So the Jews[fn] said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to take up your bed.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 5:16 - And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 5:18 - This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 5:25 - “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 5:28 - Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 5:29 - and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:10 - Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:11 - Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:16 - When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea,
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:22 - On the next day the crowd that remained on the other side of the sea saw that there had been only one boat there, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:24 - So when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:31 - Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:41 - So the Jews grumbled about him, because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:49 - Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:52 - The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:58 - This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread[fn] the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:61 - But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were grumbling about this, said to them, “Do you take offense at this?
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 6:64 - But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.)
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:1 - After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because the Jews[fn] were seeking to kill him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:3 - So his brothers[fn] said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples also may see the works you are doing.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:5 - For not even his brothers believed in him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:10 - But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly but in private.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:11 - The Jews were looking for him at the feast, and saying, “Where is he?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:12 - And there was much muttering about him among the people. While some said, “He is a good man,” others said, “No, he is leading the people astray.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:15 - The Jews therefore marveled, saying, “How is it that this man has learning,[fn] when he has never studied?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:26 - And here he is, speaking openly, and they say nothing to him! Can it be that the authorities really know that this is the Christ?
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:32 - The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about him, and the chief priests and Pharisees sent officers to arrest him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:35 - The Jews said to one another, “Where does this man intend to go that we will not find him? Does he intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks?
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:39 - Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:45 - The officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, “Why did you not bring him?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:46 - The officers answered, “No one ever spoke like this man!”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 7:47 - The Pharisees answered them, “Have you also been deceived?
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 8:3 - The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 8:9 - But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 8:10 - Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 8:13 - So the Pharisees said to him, “You are bearing witness about yourself; your testimony is not true.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 8:22 - So the Jews said, “Will he kill himself, since he says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come'?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 8:48 - The Jews answered him, “Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 8:52 - The Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon! Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say, ‘If anyone keeps my word, he will never taste death.'
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 8:53 - Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets died! Who do you make yourself out to be?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 8:57 - So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?”[fn]
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 9:2 - And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 9:3 - Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 9:8 - The neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar were saying, “Is this not the man who used to sit and beg?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 9:10 - So they said to him, “Then how were your eyes opened?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 9:15 - So the Pharisees again asked him how he had received his sight. And he said to them, “He put mud on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 9:18 - The Jews[fn] did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the parents of the man who had received his sight
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 9:20 - His parents answered, “We know that this is our son and that he was born blind.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 9:22 - (His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Jesus[fn] to be Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue.)
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 9:23 - Therefore his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 9:39 - Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 9:40 - Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 10:24 - So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 10:31 - The Jews picked up stones again to stone him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 10:33 - The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 11:8 - The disciples said to him, “Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone you, and are you going there again?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 11:12 - The disciples said to him, “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 11:31 - When the Jews who were with her in the house, consoling her, saw Mary rise quickly and go out, they followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep there.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 11:36 - So the Jews said, “See how he loved him!”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 11:45 - Many of the Jews therefore, who had come with Mary and had seen what he did, believed in him,
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 11:47 - So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the council and said, “What are we to do? For this man performs many signs.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 11:48 - If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 11:57 - Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where he was, he should let them know, so that they might arrest him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 12:10 - So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well,
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 12:16 - His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 12:19 - So the Pharisees said to one another, “You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, the world has gone after him.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 13:22 - The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he spoke.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 16:29 - His disciples said, “Ah, now you are speaking plainly and not using figurative speech!
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 18:1 - When Jesus had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples across the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which he and his disciples entered.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 18:7 - So he asked them again, “Whom do you seek?” And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 18:12 - So the band of soldiers and their captain and the officers of the Jews[fn] arrested Jesus and bound him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 18:18 - Now the servants[fn] and officers had made a charcoal fire, because it was cold, and they were standing and warming themselves. Peter also was with them, standing and warming himself.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 18:20 - Jesus answered him, “I have spoken openly to the world. I have always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all Jews come together. I have said nothing in secret.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 18:31 - Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.” The Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 18:35 - Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you over to me. What have you done?”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 18:36 - Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 19:2 - And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head and arrayed him in a purple robe.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 19:6 - When the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, “Crucify him, crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and crucify him, for I find no guilt in him.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 19:7 - The Jews[fn] answered him, “We have a law, and according to that law he ought to die because he has made himself the Son of God.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 19:12 - From then on Pilate sought to release him, but the Jews cried out, “If you release this man, you are not Caesar's friend. Everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 19:15 - They cried out, “Away with him, away with him, crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 19:21 - So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,' but rather, ‘This man said, I am King of the Jews.'”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 19:29 - A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 19:32 - So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who had been crucified with him.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 20:4 - Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 20:10 - Then the disciples went back to their homes.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 20:19 - On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews,[fn] Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 20:20 - When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 20:25 - So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 20:26 - Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 20:29 - Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 21:2 - Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 21:4 - Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
Unchecked Copy BoxJhn 21:8 - The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards[fn] off.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 2:7 - And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 2:9 - Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 2:10 - Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 2:14 - But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 2:17 - “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 2:41 - So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 2:44 - And all who believed were together and had all things in common.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 3:17 - “And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 3:24 - And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 4:1 - And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 4:21 - And when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people, for all were praising God for what had happened.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 4:23 - When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 4:24 - And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 4:26 - The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers were gathered together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed'[fn]
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 4:33 - And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 5:6 - The young men rose and wrapped him up and carried him out and buried him.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 5:9 - But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 5:10 - Immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. When the young men came in they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 5:17 - But the high priest rose up, and all who were with him (that is, the party of the Sadducees), and filled with jealousy
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 5:21 - And when they heard this, they entered the temple at daybreak and began to teach. Now when the high priest came, and those who were with him, they called together the council, all the senate of the people of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 5:22 - But when the officers came, they did not find them in the prison, so they returned and reported,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 5:24 - Now when the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were greatly perplexed about them, wondering what this would come to.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 5:25 - And someone came and told them, “Look! The men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 5:29 - But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 6:2 - And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 6:15 - And gazing at him, all who sat in the council saw that his face was like the face of an angel.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 7:9 - “And the patriarchs, jealous of Joseph, sold him into Egypt; but God was with him
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 7:11 - Now there came a famine throughout all Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction, and our fathers could find no food.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 7:15 - And Jacob went down into Egypt, and he died, he and our fathers,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 7:25 - He supposed that his brothers would understand that God was giving them salvation by his hand, but they did not understand.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 7:39 - Our fathers refused to obey him, but thrust him aside, and in their hearts they turned to Egypt,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 7:45 - Our fathers in turn brought it in with Joshua when they dispossessed the nations that God drove out before our fathers. So it was until the days of David,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 7:51 - “You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 7:52 - Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whom you have now betrayed and murdered,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 7:58 - Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 8:6 - And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs that he did.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 8:14 - Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 9:7 - The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 9:21 - And all who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 9:23 - When many days had passed, the Jews[fn] plotted to kill him,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 9:25 - but his disciples took him by night and let him down through an opening in the wall,[fn] lowering him in a basket.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 9:29 - And he spoke and disputed against the Hellenists.[fn] But they were seeking to kill him.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 9:30 - And when the brothers learned this, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 9:35 - And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 9:38 - Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Please come to us without delay.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 10:17 - Now while Peter was inwardly perplexed as to what the vision that he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood at the gate
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 10:22 - And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 10:43 - To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 10:45 - And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 11:1 - Now the apostles and the brothers[fn] who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 11:2 - So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party[fn] criticized him, saying,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 11:12 - And the Spirit told me to go with them, making no distinction. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered the man's house.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 12:15 - They said to her, “You are out of your mind.” But she kept insisting that it was so, and they kept saying, “It is his angel!”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 13:13 - Now Paul and his companions set sail from Paphos and came to Perga in Pamphylia. And John left them and returned to Jerusalem,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 13:15 - After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent a message to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have any word of encouragement for the people, say it.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 13:16 - So Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said: “Men of Israel and you who fear God, listen.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 13:26 - “Brothers, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to us has been sent the message of this salvation.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 13:27 - For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because they did not recognize him nor understand the utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 13:41 - “‘Look, you scoffers,
be astounded and perish;
for I am doing a work in your days,
a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you.'”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 13:45 - But when the Jews[fn] saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, reviling him.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 13:50 - But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 13:51 - But they shook off the dust from their feet against them and went to Iconium.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 14:2 - But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.[fn]
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 14:4 - But the people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews and some with the apostles.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 14:14 - But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their garments and rushed out into the crowd, crying out,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 15:6 - The apostles and the elders were gathered together to consider this matter.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 15:10 - Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 15:15 - And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 15:17 - that the remnant[fn] of mankind may seek the Lord,
and all the Gentiles who are called by my name,
says the Lord, who makes these things
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 15:23 - with the following letter: “The brothers, both the apostles and the elders, to the brothers[fn] who are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greetings.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 16:17 - She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 16:19 - But when her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 16:20 - And when they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, “These men are Jews, and they are disturbing our city.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 16:22 - The crowd joined in attacking them, and the magistrates tore the garments off them and gave orders to beat them with rods.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 16:25 - About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 16:31 - And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 16:33 - And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 16:35 - But when it was day, the magistrates sent the police, saying, “Let those men go.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 16:36 - And the jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go. Therefore come out now and go in peace.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 16:38 - The police reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Roman citizens.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 17:5 - But the Jews[fn] were jealous, and taking some wicked men of the rabble, they formed a mob, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the crowd.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 17:13 - But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Berea also, they came there too, agitating and stirring up the crowds.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 17:14 - Then the brothers immediately sent Paul off on his way to the sea, but Silas and Timothy remained there.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 17:15 - Those who conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens, and after receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him as soon as possible, they departed.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 17:18 - Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also conversed with him. And some said, “What does this babbler wish to say?” Others said, “He seems to be a preacher of foreign divinities”—because he was preaching Jesus and the resurrection.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 17:21 - Now all the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there would spend their time in nothing except telling or hearing something new.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 17:32 - Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked. But others said, “We will hear you again about this.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 18:12 - But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews[fn] made a united attack on Paul and brought him before the tribunal,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 18:17 - And they all seized Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him in front of the tribunal. But Gallio paid no attention to any of this.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 18:27 - And when he wished to cross to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples to welcome him. When he arrived, he greatly helped those who through grace had believed,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 19:2 - And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 19:3 - And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John's baptism.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 19:7 - There were about twelve men in all.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 19:14 - Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 19:26 - And you see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost all of Asia this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great many people, saying that gods made with hands are not gods.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 19:30 - But when Paul wished to go in among the crowd, the disciples would not let him.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 19:32 - Now some cried out one thing, some another, for the assembly was in confusion, and most of them did not know why they had come together.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 19:38 - If therefore Demetrius and the craftsmen with him have a complaint against anyone, the courts are open, and there are proconsuls. Let them bring charges against one another.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 21:8 - On the next day we departed and came to Caesarea, and we entered the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 21:11 - And coming to us, he took Paul's belt and bound his own feet and hands and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘This is how the Jews[fn] at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.'”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 21:12 - When we heard this, we and the people there urged him not to go up to Jerusalem.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 21:17 - When we had come to Jerusalem, the brothers received us gladly.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 21:18 - On the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 21:20 - And when they heard it, they glorified God. And they said to him, “You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed. They are all zealous for the law,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 21:27 - When the seven days were almost completed, the Jews from Asia, seeing him in the temple, stirred up the whole crowd and laid hands on him,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 21:32 - He at once took soldiers and centurions and ran down to them. And when they saw the tribune and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 22:9 - Now those who were with me saw the light but did not understand[fn] the voice of the one who was speaking to me.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 22:29 - So those who were about to examine him withdrew from him immediately, and the tribune also was afraid, for he realized that Paul was a Roman citizen and that he had bound him.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 23:4 - Those who stood by said, “Would you revile God's high priest?”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 23:9 - Then a great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees' party stood up and contended sharply, “We find nothing wrong in this man. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him?”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 23:13 - There were more than forty who made this conspiracy.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 23:35 - he said, “I will give you a hearing when your accusers arrive.” And he commanded him to be guarded in Herod's praetorium.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 24:9 - The Jews also joined in the charge, affirming that all these things were so.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 25:2 - And the chief priests and the principal men of the Jews laid out their case against Paul, and they urged him,
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 25:7 - When he had arrived, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him, bringing many and serious charges against him that they could not prove.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 25:15 - and when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews laid out their case against him, asking for a sentence of condemnation against him.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 25:18 - When the accusers stood up, they brought no charge in his case of such evils as I supposed.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 25:24 - And Festus said, “King Agrippa and all who are present with us, you see this man about whom the whole Jewish people petitioned me, both in Jerusalem and here, shouting that he ought not to live any longer.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 26:4 - “My manner of life from my youth, spent from the beginning among my own nation and in Jerusalem, is known by all the Jews.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 26:22 - To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass:
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 26:30 - Then the king rose, and the governor and Bernice and those who were sitting with them.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 27:12 - And because the harbor was not suitable to spend the winter in, the majority decided to put out to sea from there, on the chance that somehow they could reach Phoenix, a harbor of Crete, facing both southwest and northwest, and spend the winter there.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 27:27 - When the fourteenth night had come, as we were being driven across the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors suspected that they were nearing land.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 27:32 - Then the soldiers cut away the ropes of the ship's boat and let it go.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 28:4 - When the native people saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer. Though he has escaped from the sea, Justice[fn] has not allowed him to live.”
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 28:6 - They were waiting for him to swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw no misfortune come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 28:9 - And when this had taken place, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases also came and were cured.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 28:15 - And the brothers there, when they heard about us, came as far as the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to meet us. On seeing them, Paul thanked God and took courage.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 28:21 - And they said to him, “We have received no letters from Judea about you, and none of the brothers coming here has reported or spoken any evil about you.
Unchecked Copy BoxAct 28:24 - And some were convinced by what he said, but others disbelieved.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 1:27 - and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 1:32 - Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 2:13 - For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 3:15 - “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 4:14 - For if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 5:15 - But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 5:17 - For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 5:19 - For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 8:5 - For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 8:8 - Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 9:5 - To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 9:6 - But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel,
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 10:15 - And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 11:7 - What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened,
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 11:10 - let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see,
and bend their backs forever.”
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 11:16 - If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 11:24 - For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 12:5 - so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 13:2 - Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 13:3 - For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval,
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 15:1 - We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 15:11 - And again,
“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles,
and let all the peoples extol him.”
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 16:18 - For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites,[fn] and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
Unchecked Copy BoxRom 16:21 - Timothy, my fellow worker, greets you; so do Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 6:2 - Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases?
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 6:16 - Or do you not know that he who is joined[fn] to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.”
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 7:28 - But if you do marry, you have not sinned, and if a betrothed woman[fn] marries, she has not sinned. Yet those who marry will have worldly troubles, and I would spare you that.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 7:29 - This is what I mean, brothers: the appointed time has grown very short. From now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none,
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 7:30 - and those who mourn as though they were not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, and those who buy as though they had no goods,
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 7:31 - and those who deal with the world as though they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this world is passing away.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 9:5 - Do we not have the right to take along a believing wife,[fn] as do the other apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 9:13 - Do you not know that those who are employed in the temple service get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in the sacrificial offerings?
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 9:24 - Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 10:1 - For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers,[fn] that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 10:17 - Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 10:18 - Consider the people of Israel:[fn] are not those who eat the sacrifices participants in the altar?
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 11:19 - for there must be factions among you in order that those who are genuine among you may be recognized.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 14:29 - Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 15:6 - Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 15:18 - Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 15:23 - But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 15:29 - Otherwise, what do people mean by being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized on their behalf?
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 15:35 - But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?”
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 15:48 - As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 15:52 - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
Unchecked Copy Box1Co 16:20 - All the brothers send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
Unchecked Copy Box2Co 2:17 - For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.
Unchecked Copy Box2Co 4:11 - For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
Unchecked Copy Box2Co 5:4 - For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
Unchecked Copy Box2Co 5:14 - For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died;
Unchecked Copy Box2Co 5:15 - and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
Unchecked Copy Box2Co 11:9 - And when I was with you and was in need, I did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my need. So I refrained and will refrain from burdening you in any way.
Unchecked Copy Box2Co 11:13 - For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
Unchecked Copy Box2Co 11:15 - So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
Unchecked Copy Box2Co 12:14 - Here for the third time I am ready to come to you. And I will not be a burden, for I seek not what is yours but you. For children are not obligated to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.
Unchecked Copy Box2Co 13:13 - All the saints greet you.
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 1:2 - and all the brothers[fn] who are with me, To the churches of Galatia:
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 1:7 - not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 2:6 - And from those who seemed to be influential (what they were makes no difference to me; God shows no partiality)—those, I say, who seemed influential added nothing to me.
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 2:9 - and when James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabas and me, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 2:13 - And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 3:7 - Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham.
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 3:9 - So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 4:21 - Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law?
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 5:12 - I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves!
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 5:21 - envy,[fn] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do[fn] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 5:24 - And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 6:1 - Brothers,[fn] if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
Unchecked Copy BoxGal 6:13 - For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
Unchecked Copy BoxEph 2:3 - among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[fn] and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.[fn]
Unchecked Copy BoxEph 2:11 - Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands—
Unchecked Copy BoxEph 2:18 - For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.
Unchecked Copy BoxEph 4:13 - until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,[fn] to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
Unchecked Copy BoxEph 5:28 - In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
Unchecked Copy BoxEph 5:31 - “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
Unchecked Copy BoxEph 5:33 - However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
Unchecked Copy BoxEph 6:4 - Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Unchecked Copy BoxEph 6:9 - Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master[fn] and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.
Unchecked Copy BoxPhl 1:16 - The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel.
Unchecked Copy BoxPhl 1:17 - The former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment.
Unchecked Copy BoxPhl 2:21 - For they all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.
Unchecked Copy BoxPhl 3:3 - For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God[fn] and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh—
Unchecked Copy BoxPhl 3:19 - Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.
Unchecked Copy BoxPhl 4:21 - Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you.
Unchecked Copy BoxPhl 4:22 - All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar's household.
Unchecked Copy BoxCol 2:3 - in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Unchecked Copy BoxCol 4:11 - and Jesus who is called Justus. These are the only men of the circumcision among my fellow workers for the kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me.
Unchecked Copy Box1Th 4:13 - But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.
Unchecked Copy Box1Th 4:15 - For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord,[fn] that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
Unchecked Copy Box1Th 4:16 - For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Unchecked Copy Box1Th 4:17 - Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
Unchecked Copy Box1Th 5:6 - So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
Unchecked Copy Box1Th 5:7 - For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night.
