The report of your obedience has reached everyone. Therefore I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise about what is good, and yet innocent about what is evil.
I am delighted to have Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus present, because these men have made up for your absence.
I now rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because your grief led to repentance. For you were grieved as God willed, so that you didn't experience any loss from us.
What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is proclaimed, and in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice
But even if I am poured out as a drink offering on the sacrificial service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.
