“Which one of you having a servant tending sheep or plowing will say to him when he comes in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?
“They will say to you, ‘See there! ’ or ‘See here! ’ Don’t follow or run after them.
“The Pharisee was standing and praying like this about himself:[fn] ‘God, I thank you that I’m not like other people — greedy, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
“For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”
So he said to them, “Truly I tell you, there is no one who has left a house, wife or brothers or sisters, parents or children because of the kingdom of God,
and said to him, “Tell us, by what authority are you doing these things? Who is it who gave you this authority? ”
“for I will give you such words and a wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
“For who is greater, the one at the table or the one serving? Isn’t it the one at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.

Since Judas kept the money-bag, some thought that Jesus was telling him, “Buy what we need for the festival,” or that he should give something to the poor.
Jesus answered, “Are you asking this on your own, or have others told you about me? ”
He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.

I found out that the accusations were concerning questions of their law, and that there was no charge that merited death or imprisonment.
“They didn’t find me arguing with anyone or causing a disturbance among the crowd, either in the temple or in the synagogues or anywhere in the city.
“Or let these men here state what wrongdoing they found in me when I stood before the Sanhedrin,
“other than this one statement I shouted while standing among them, ‘Today I am on trial before you concerning the resurrection of the dead.’ ”
When he had spent not more than eight or ten days among them, he went down to Caesarea. The next day, seated at the tribunal, he commanded Paul to be brought in.
“I answered them that it is not the Roman custom to give someone up[fn] before the accused faces the accusers and has an opportunity for a defense against the charges.
and when they had left they talked with each other and said, “This man is not doing anything to deserve death or imprisonment.”
