3. absolutely of both sexes: 1 Timothy 4:3; 1 Corinthians 7:9f, 36 (γαμείτωσαν, namely, the virgin and he who seeks her to wife). In the O. T. γαμεῖν occurs only in 2 Macc. 14:25.
