Head Coverings

2 Now ^G1161 I praise ^G1867 you because ^G3754 you remember ^G3403 me in everything ^G3956 and hold ^G2722 firmly ^G2722 to ^G2722 the traditions ^G3862, just ^G2531 as I delivered ^G3860 them to you.

3 But I want ^G2309 you to understand ^G6063 that [fn]Christ ^G5547 is the head ^G2776 of every ^G3956 man ^G435, and the man ^G435 is the head ^G2776 of a woman ^G1135, and God ^G2316 is the head ^G2776 of [fn]Christ ^G5547. 4 Every ^G3956 man ^G435 who has ^G2192 something on his head ^G2776 while praying ^G4336 or ^G2228 prophesying ^G4395, shames ^G2617 his head ^G2776. 5 But every ^G3956 woman ^G1135 who has her head ^G2776 uncovered ^G177 while praying ^G4336 or ^G2228 prophesying ^G4395, shames ^G2617 her head ^G2776, for she is one ^G1520 and the same ^G846 as the woman ^G1135 [fn]whose head is shaved ^G3587. 6 For if ^G1487 a woman ^G1135 does not cover ^G2619 [fn]her head, let her also ^G2532 [fn]have her hair ^G2751 cut ^G2751 short ^G2751. The Lord’s Supper

23 For I received ^G3880 from the Lord ^G2962 that which ^G3739 I also ^G2532 delivered ^G3860 to you, that the Lord ^G2962 Jesus ^G2424 in the night ^G3571 in which ^G3739 He was being betrayed ^G3860 took ^G2983 bread ^G740, 24 and when He had given ^G2168 thanks ^G2168, He broke ^G2806 it and said ^G3004, “This ^G3778 is My body ^G4983, which is for you. 27 Therefore ^G5620 whoever ^G3739 G302 eats ^G2068 the bread ^G740 or ^G2228 drinks ^G4095 the cup ^G4221 of the Lord ^G2962 in an unworthy ^G371 manner ^G371, shall be guilty ^G1777 of the body ^G4983 and the blood ^G129 of the Lord ^G2962. 28 But a man ^G444 must test ^G1381 himself ^G1438, and in so ^G3779 doing he is to eat ^G2068 of the bread ^G740 and drink ^G4095 of the cup ^G4221. 29 For he who eats ^G2068 and drinks ^G4095, eats ^G2068 and drinks ^G4095 judgment ^G2917 to himself ^G1438 if he does not judge ^G1252 the body ^G4983 rightly. 30 For this ^G3778 reason ^G1223 many ^G4183 among ^G1722 you are weak ^G772 and sick ^G732, and a number ^G2425 [fn]sleep ^G2837. 31 But if ^G1487 we judged ^G1252 ourselves ^G1438 rightly, we would not be judged ^G2919. 32 But when we are judged ^G2919, we are disciplined ^G3811 by the Lord ^G2962 so ^G2443 that we will not be condemned ^G2632 along ^G4862 with the world ^G2889.
