1 What G3739 was from the beginning G746, what G3739 we have heard G191, what G3739 we have seen G3708 with our eyes G3788, what G3739 we beheld G2300 and touched G5584 with our hands G5495, concerning G4012 the Word G3056 of Life G2222—
2 and the life G2222 was manifested G5319, and we have seen G3708 and bear G3140 witness G3140 and proclaim G518 to you the eternal G166 life G2222, which G3748 was with the Father G3962 and was manifested G5319 to us— 3 what G3739 we have seen G3708 and heard G191 we proclaim G518 to you also G2532, so G2443 that you may also G2532 have G2192 fellowship G2842 with us; and indeed G2532 our fellowship G2842 is with the Father G3962, and with His Son G5207 Jesus G2424 Christ G5547. 4 And these G3778 things G3778 we are writing G1125, so G2443 that our joy G5479 may be made G4137 complete G4137.
God Is Light
5 And this G3778 is the message G31 we have heard G191 from Him and declare G312 to you, that God G2316 is Light G5457, and in Him there is no G3756 darkness G4653 at G3762 all G3762.
6 If G1437 we say G3004 that we have G2192 fellowship G2842 with Him and yet walk G4043 in the darkness G4655, we lie G5574 and do not do G4160 the truth G225; 7 but if G1437 we walk G4043 in G1437 the Light G5457 as He Himself G846 is in the Light G5457, we have G2192 fellowship G2842 with one G240 another G240, and the blood G129 of Jesus G2424 His Son G5207 cleanses G2511 us from all G3956 sin G266. 8 If G1437 we say G3004 that we have G2192 no G3756 sin G266, we deceive G4105 ourselves G1438 and the truth G225 is not in us. 9 If G1437 we confess G3670 our sins G266, He is faithful G4103 and righteous G1342 to forgive G863 us our sins G266 and to cleanse G2511 us from all G3956 unrighteousness G93. 10 If G1437 we say G3004 that we have not sinned G264, we make G4160 Him a liar G5583 and His word G3056 is not in us.
