The House Solomon Built for Yahweh

1 Now it happened ^H1961 in the four ^H702 hundred ^H3967 and eightieth ^H8084 year ^H8141 after the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 came ^H3318 out ^H3318 of the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714, in the fourth ^H7243 year ^H8141 of Solomon’s ^H8010 reign ^H4427 over ^H5921 Israel ^H3478, in the month ^H2320 of Ziv ^H2099 which ^H1931 is the second ^H8145 month ^H2320, that he [fn]began to build ^H1129 the house ^H1004 of Yahweh ^H3068.

2 As for the house ^H1004 which ^H834 King ^H4428 Solomon ^H8010 built ^H1129 for Yahweh ^H3068, its length ^H753 was [fn]sixty ^H8346 cubits ^H520 and its width ^H7341 twenty ^H6242 cubits and its height ^H6967 thirty ^H7970 cubits ^H520. 3 And the porch ^H197 in front ^H6440 of the nave ^H1964 of the house ^H1004 was twenty ^H6242 cubits ^H520 [fn]in length ^H753, [fn]corresponding ^H5921 H6440 to the width ^H7341 of the house ^H1004, and its [fn]depth ^H7341 along ^H5921 the front ^H6440 of the house ^H1004 was ten ^H6235 cubits ^H520. 4 Also for the house ^H1004 he made ^H6213 windows ^H2474 with artistic frames ^H8261. 5 And he built ^H1129, against ^H5921 the wall ^H7023 of the house ^H1004, stories ^H3326 encompassing ^H5439 the walls ^H7023 of the house ^H1004 around ^H5439 both the nave ^H1964 and the inner ^H1687 sanctuary ^H1687; thus he made ^H6213 side ^H6763 chambers ^H6763 all ^H5439 around ^H5439. 6 The lowest ^H8481 story ^H3326 was five ^H2568 cubits ^H520 wide ^H7341, and the middle ^H8484 was six ^H8337 cubits ^H520 wide ^H7341, and the third ^H7992 was seven ^H7651 cubits ^H520 wide ^H7341; for on the outside ^H2351 he [fn]made ^H5414 offsets ^H4052 in the wall of the house ^H1004 all ^H5439 around ^H5439 in order that the beams would not [fn]be inserted ^H270 in the walls ^H7023 of the house ^H1004.

7 The house ^H1004, while it was being built ^H1129, was built ^H1129 of stone ^H68 [fn]prepared ^H8003 at the quarry ^H4551, and there was neither ^H3808 hammer ^H4717 nor ^H3808 axe ^H1631 nor ^H3808 any ^H3605 iron ^H1270 tool ^H3627 heard ^H8085 in the house ^H1004 while it was being built ^H1129.

8 The doorway ^H6607 for the [fn]lowest ^H8484 side ^H6763 chamber ^H6763 was on the right ^H3233 side ^H3802 of the house ^H1004; and they would go ^H5927 up ^H5927 by winding ^H3883 stairs ^H3883 to the middle ^H8484 story, and from the middle ^H8484 to the third ^H7992. 9 So he built ^H1129 the house ^H1004 and completed ^H3615 it; and he paneled ^H5603 the house ^H1004 with beams ^H1356 and [fn]planks ^H7713 of cedar ^H730. 10 He also built ^H1129 the stories ^H3326 against ^H5921 the whole ^H3605 house ^H1004, each five ^H2568 [fn]cubits ^H520 high ^H6967; and they [fn]were fastened ^H270 to the house ^H1004 with timbers ^H6086 of cedar ^H730.

11 And the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 came ^H1961 to Solomon ^H8010 saying ^H559, 12 “Concerning this ^H2088 house ^H1004 which ^H834 you are building ^H1129, if ^H518 you will walk ^H1980 in My statutes ^H2708 and do ^H6213 My judgments ^H4941 and keep ^H8104 all ^H3605 My commandments ^H4687 by walking ^H1980 in them, then I will establish ^H6965 My word ^H1697 with you which ^H834 I spoke ^H1696 to David ^H1732 your father ^H1. 13 And I will dwell ^H7931 among ^H8432 the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478, and will not forsake ^H5800 My people ^H5971 Israel ^H3478.”

14 So Solomon ^H8010 built ^H1129 the house ^H1004 and completed ^H3615 it. 15 Then he built ^H1129 the walls ^H7023 of the house ^H1004 on the inside ^H4480 H1004 with boards ^H6763 of cedar ^H730; from the floor ^H7172 of the house ^H1004 to the [fn]ceiling ^H7023 H5604 he overlaid ^H6823 the walls on the inside ^H4480 H1004 with wood ^H6086, and he overlaid ^H6823 the floor ^H7172 of the house ^H1004 with boards ^H6763 of cypress ^H1265. 16 And he built ^H1129 twenty ^H6242 cubits ^H520 on the rear ^H3411 part ^H3411 of the house ^H1004 with boards ^H6763 of cedar ^H730 from the floor ^H7172 to the [fn]ceiling ^H7023; he built ^H1129 them for it on the inside ^H4480 H1004 as an inner ^H1687 sanctuary ^H1687, as the Holy ^H6944 of Holies ^H6944. 17 And the house ^H1004, that is, the nave ^H1964 in front ^H6440 of the inner sanctuary, was [fn]forty ^H705 cubits ^H520 long. 18 And there was cedar ^H730 on the house ^H1004 within ^H6441, carved ^H4734 in the shape of gourds ^H6497 and open ^H6362 flowers ^H6731; all ^H3605 was cedar ^H730, there ^H369 was ^H369 no ^H369 stone ^H68 seen ^H7200. 19 Then he prepared ^H3559 an inner ^H1687 sanctuary ^H1687 within ^H8432 the house ^H1004 in order to place ^H5414 there ^H8033 the ark ^H727 of the covenant ^H1285 of Yahweh ^H3068. 20 Now [fn]the inner ^H1687 sanctuary ^H1687 was twenty ^H6242 cubits ^H520 in length ^H753, twenty ^H6242 cubits ^H520 in width ^H7341, and twenty ^H6242 cubits ^H520 in height ^H6967, and he overlaid ^H6823 it with pure ^H5458 gold ^H2091. He also overlaid ^H6823 the altar ^H4196 with cedar ^H730. 21 So Solomon ^H8010 overlaid ^H6823 the inside ^H4480 H6441 of the house ^H1004 with pure ^H5458 gold ^H2091. And he drew ^H5674 chains ^H7569 of gold ^H2091 across ^H5674 the front ^H6440 of the inner ^H1687 sanctuary ^H1687, and he overlaid ^H6823 it with gold ^H2091. 22 So he overlaid ^H6823 the whole ^H3605 house ^H1004 with gold ^H2091, until ^H5704 all ^H3605 the house ^H1004 was finished ^H8552. Also the whole ^H3605 altar ^H4196 which ^H834 was by the inner ^H1687 sanctuary ^H1687 he overlaid ^H6823 with gold ^H2091.

23 Also in the inner ^H1687 sanctuary ^H1687 he made ^H6213 two ^H8147 cherubim ^H3742 of olive ^H8081 wood ^H6086, each ten ^H6235 cubits ^H520 high ^H6967. 24 And five ^H2568 cubits ^H520 was the one ^H259 wing ^H3671 of the cherub ^H3742 and five ^H2568 cubits ^H520 the other ^H8145 wing ^H3671 of the cherub ^H3742; from the end ^H7098 of one wing ^H3671 to the end ^H7098 of the other wing ^H3671 were ten ^H6235 cubits ^H520. 25 The other ^H8145 cherub ^H3742 was also ten ^H6235 cubits ^H520; both ^H8147 the cherubim ^H3742 were of the same ^H259 measure ^H4060 and the same ^H259 form ^H7095. 26 The height ^H6967 of the one ^H259 cherub ^H3742 was ten ^H6235 cubits ^H520, and so ^H3651 was the other ^H8145 cherub ^H3742. 27 And he put ^H5414 the cherubim ^H3742 in the midst ^H8432 of the inner ^H6442 house ^H1004, and the wings ^H3671 of the cherubim ^H3742 were spread ^H6566 out ^H6566, so that the wing ^H3671 of the one ^H259 was touching ^H5060 the one wall ^H7023, and the wing ^H3671 of the other ^H8145 cherub ^H3742 was touching ^H5060 the other ^H8145 wall ^H7023. And their wings ^H3671 were touching ^H5060 each ^H3671 other ^H3671 in the center ^H8432 of the house ^H1004. 28 He also overlaid ^H6823 the cherubim ^H3742 with gold ^H2091.

29 Then he carved ^H7049 all ^H3605 the walls ^H7023 of the house ^H1004 round ^H4524 about ^H4524 with carved ^H6603 engravings ^H6603 of cherubim ^H3742, palm ^H8561 trees ^H8561, and open ^H6362 flowers ^H6731, from within the inner ^H6441 and outer ^H2435 sanctuaries. 30 And he overlaid ^H6823 the floor ^H7172 of the house ^H1004 with gold ^H2091, in the inner ^H6441 and outer ^H2435 sanctuaries.

31 For the entrance ^H6607 of the inner ^H1687 sanctuary ^H1687 he made ^H6213 doors ^H1817 of olive ^H8081 wood ^H6086, the lintel ^H352, and five-sided ^H2549 doorposts ^H4201. 32 So he made two ^H8147 doors ^H1817 of olive ^H8081 wood ^H6086, and he carved ^H7049 on them carvings ^H4734 of cherubim ^H3742, palm ^H8561 trees ^H8561, and open ^H6362 flowers ^H6731, and overlaid ^H6823 them with gold ^H2091; and he spread ^H7286 the gold ^H2091 on the cherubim ^H3742 and on the palm ^H8561 trees ^H8561.

33 So ^H3651 also he made ^H6213 for the entrance ^H6607 of the nave ^H1964 four-sided ^H7243 doorposts ^H4201 of olive ^H8081 wood ^H6086 34 and two ^H8147 doors ^H1817 of cypress ^H1265 wood ^H6086; the two ^H8147 leaves ^H6763 of the one ^H259 door ^H1817 turned ^H1550 on ^H1550 pivots ^H1550, and the two ^H8147 [fn]leaves ^H7050 of the other ^H8145 door ^H1817 turned ^H1550 on ^H1550 pivots ^H1550. 35 And he carved ^H7049 on it cherubim ^H3742, palm ^H8561 trees ^H8561, and open ^H6362 flowers ^H6731; and he overlaid ^H6823 them with gold ^H2091 evenly ^H3474 applied ^H3474 on the engraved ^H2707 work. 36 And he built ^H1129 the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691 with three ^H7969 rows ^H2905 of cut ^H1496 stone ^H1496 and a row ^H2905 of cedar ^H730 beams ^H3773.

37 In the fourth ^H7243 year ^H8141 the foundation ^H3245 of the house ^H1004 of Yahweh ^H3068 was laid ^H3245, in the month ^H3391 of Ziv ^H2099. 38 Now in the eleventh ^H259 H6240 year ^H8141, in the month ^H3391 of Bul ^H945, which ^H1931 is the eighth ^H8066 month ^H2320, the house ^H1004 was completed ^H3615 throughout all ^H3605 its parts ^H1697 and according to all ^H3605 its [fn]plans ^H4941. So he built ^H1129 it in seven ^H7651 years ^H8141.
