Naaman Cleaned from Leprosy

1 Now Naaman ^H5283, commander ^H8269 of the army ^H6635 of the king ^H4428 of Aram ^H758, was a great ^H1419 man ^H376 [fn]with his master ^H113, and [fn]highly ^H5375 H6440 respected ^H5375 H6440, because ^H3588 by him Yahweh ^H3068 had given ^H5414 salvation ^H8668 to Aram ^H758. The man ^H376 was also a mighty ^H1368 man ^H1368 of valor ^H2428, but he was a leper ^H6879.

6 And he brought ^H935 the letter ^H5612 to the king ^H4428 of Israel ^H3478, saying ^H559,

“So now ^H6258 as this ^H2088 letter ^H5612 comes ^H935 to you, behold ^H2009, I have sent ^H7971 Naaman ^H5283 my servant ^H5650 to you, that you may cure ^H622 him of his leprosy ^H6883.”

7 Now it happened that when the king ^H4428 of Israel ^H3478 read ^H7121 the letter ^H5612, he tore ^H7167 his clothes ^H899 and said ^H559, “Am I God ^H430, to put ^H4191 to ^H4191 death ^H4191 and to make ^H2421 alive ^H2421, that this ^H2088 man is sending ^H7971 word to me to cure ^H622 a man ^H376 of his leprosy ^H6883? 8 Now it happened ^H1961 when Elisha ^H477 the man ^H376 of God ^H430 heard ^H8085 that the king ^H4428 of Israel ^H3478 had torn ^H7167 his clothes ^H899, that he sent ^H7971 word to the king ^H4428, saying ^H559, “Why ^H4100 have you torn ^H7167 your clothes ^H899? Could I not wash ^H7364 in them and be ^H2891 clean ^H2891?” So he turned ^H6437 and went ^H1980 away in wrath ^H2534. 13 Then his servants ^H5650 approached ^H5066 and spoke ^H1696 to him and said ^H559, “My father ^H1, had the prophet ^H5030 spoken ^H1696 with you to do some great ^H1419 thing ^H1697, would you not have done ^H6213 it? How ^H637 much ^H637 H3588 more ^H637 H3588 then, when ^H3588 he says ^H559 to you, ‘Wash ^H7364, and be ^H2891 clean ^H2891’?” 14 So he went ^H3381 down ^H3381 and dipped ^H2881 himself seven ^H7651 times ^H6471 in the Jordan ^H3383, according to the word ^H1697 of the man ^H376 of God ^H430; and his flesh ^H1320 was restored ^H7725 like the flesh ^H1320 of a young ^H6996 boy ^H5288 and he was ^H2891 clean ^H2891.

Gehazi’s Leprosy

15 Then he returned ^H7725 to the man ^H376 of God ^H430 [fn]with all ^H3605 his camp ^H4264, and came ^H935 and stood ^H5975 before ^H6440 him, and said ^H559, “Behold ^H2009 now ^H4994, I know ^H3045 that there ^H369 is ^H369 no ^H369 God ^H430 in all ^H3605 the earth ^H776, but in Israel ^H3478; so now ^H6258 please ^H4994 take ^H3947 a blessing ^H1293 from your servant ^H5650.”

Then he sent ^H7971 the men ^H376 away ^H7971, and they departed ^H1980. 25 But he came ^H935 in ^H935 and stood ^H5975 before ^H413 his master ^H113. 26 Then he said ^H559 to him, “Did not my heart ^H3820 go ^H1980 with you, when ^H834 the man ^H376 turned ^H2015 from his chariot ^H4818 to meet ^H7122 you? Is it a time ^H6256 to receive ^H3947 money ^H3701 and to receive ^H3947 clothes ^H899 and olive ^H2132 groves ^H2132 and vineyards ^H3754 and sheep ^H6629 and oxen ^H1241 and male ^H5650 and female ^H8198 slaves ^H8198? 27 Thus the leprosy ^H6883 of Naaman ^H5283 shall cling ^H1692 to you and to your seed ^H2233 forever ^H5769.” So he went ^H3318 out ^H3318 from his presence ^H6440 a leper ^H6879 as white as snow ^H7950.
