The Man of Lawlessness

1 Now ^G1161 we ask ^G2065 you, brothers ^G80, with regard ^G5228 to the [fn]coming ^G3952 of our Lord ^G2962 Jesus ^G2424 Christ ^G5547 and our gathering ^G1997 together ^G1997 to Him,

13 But we should ^G3784 always ^G3842 give ^G2168 thanks ^G2168 to God ^G2316 for you, brothers ^G80 beloved ^G25 by the Lord ^G2962, because ^G3754 God ^G2316 has chosen ^G138 you [fn]as the first ^G536 fruits ^G536 for salvation ^G4991 through ^G1722 sanctification ^G38 [fn]by the Spirit ^G4151 and faith ^G4102 in the truth ^G225. 14 [fn]It was for this ^G3739 He called ^G2564 you through ^G1223 our gospel ^G2098, [fn]that you may obtain ^G4047 the glory ^G1391 of our Lord ^G2962 Jesus ^G2424 Christ ^G5547. 15 So ^G686 then ^G686, brothers ^G80, stand ^G4739 firm ^G4739 and hold ^G2902 to the traditions ^G3862 which ^G3739 you were taught ^G1321, whether ^G1535 by word ^G3056 of mouth or ^G1535 by letter ^G1992 [fn]from us.

16 Now ^G1161 may our Lord ^G2962 Jesus ^G2424 Christ ^G5547 Himself ^G846 and God ^G2316 our Father ^G3962, who has loved ^G25 us and given ^G1325 us eternal ^G166 comfort ^G3874 and good ^G18 hope ^G1680 by grace ^G5485, 17 encourage ^G3870 your hearts ^G2588 and strengthen ^G4741 them in every ^G3956 good ^G18 work ^G2041 and word ^G3056.
