Stone Those Who Prophesy Against Yahweh

1 “[fn]If ^H3588 a prophet ^H5030 or ^H176 a dreamer ^H2492 of dreams ^H2472 arises ^H6965 among ^H7130 you and gives ^H5414 you a sign ^H226 or ^H176 a wonder ^H4159,

2 and the sign ^H226 or the wonder ^H4159 comes ^H935 true, concerning which ^H834 he spoke ^H1696 to you, saying ^H559, ‘Let us walk ^H1980 after ^H310 other ^H312 gods ^H430 (whom ^H834 you have not known ^H3045) and let us serve ^H5647 them,’ 3 you shall not listen ^H8085 to the words ^H1697 of that prophet ^H5030 or ^H176 that dreamer ^H2492 of dreams ^H2472; for Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 is testing ^H5254 you to find ^H3045 out if you love ^H157 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 with all ^H3605 your heart ^H3824 and with all ^H3605 your soul ^H5315. 4 You shall walk ^H1980 after ^H310 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 and fear ^H3372 Him; and you shall keep ^H8104 His commandments ^H4687, listen ^H8085 to His voice ^H6963, serve ^H5647 Him, and cling ^H1692 to Him. 5 But that prophet ^H5030 or ^H176 that dreamer ^H2492 of dreams ^H2472 shall be put ^H4191 to ^H4191 death ^H4191 because ^H3588 he has [fn]counseled ^H1696 [fn]rebellion ^H5627 against ^H5921 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 who brought ^H3318 you from the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714 and redeemed ^H6299 you from the house ^H1004 of [fn]slavery ^H5650, to drive ^H5080 you from the way ^H1870 in which ^H834 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 commanded ^H6680 you to walk ^H1980. 6 “If ^H3588 your brother ^H251, your mother’s ^H517 son ^H1121, or ^H176 your son ^H1121 or ^H176 daughter ^H1323, or ^H176 the wife ^H802 [fn]you cherish ^H2436, or ^H176 your friend ^H7453 who ^H834 is as your own soul ^H5315, entices ^H5496 you secretly ^H5643, saying ^H559, ‘Let us go ^H1980 and serve ^H5647 other ^H312 gods ^H430’ (whom ^H834 neither ^H3808 you nor ^H3808 your fathers ^H1 have known ^H3045, 7 of the gods ^H430 of the peoples ^H5971 who ^H834 are around ^H5439 you, near ^H7138 you or ^H176 far ^H7350 from you, from one end ^H7097 of the earth ^H776 to the other end ^H7097), 8 you shall not be willing ^H14 to ^H14 accept ^H14 him or listen ^H8085 to him; and your eye ^H5869 shall not pity ^H2347 him; and you shall not ^H3808 spare ^H2550 him or conceal ^H3680 him. 9 But you shall surely ^H2026 kill ^H2026 him; your hand ^H3027 shall be first ^H7223 against him to put ^H4191 him to ^H4191 death ^H4191, and afterwards ^H314 the hand ^H3027 of all ^H3605 the people ^H5971. 10 So you shall stone ^H5619 him [fn]to death ^H4191 because ^H3588 he has sought ^H1245 to drive ^H5080 you from Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 who brought ^H3318 you out ^H3318 from the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714, out of the house ^H1004 of [fn]slavery ^H5650. 11 Thus all ^H3605 Israel ^H3478 will hear ^H8085 and be ^H3372 afraid ^H3372 and will never ^H3808 again ^H3254 do ^H6213 such ^H2088 an evil ^H7451 thing ^H1697 among ^H7130 you.

12 “If ^H3588 you hear ^H8085 in one ^H259 of your cities ^H5892, which ^H834 Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430 is giving ^H5414 you to live ^H3427 in, anyone saying ^H559 that 13 some vile ^H1100 men ^H376 have gone ^H3318 out ^H3318 from among ^H7130 you and have driven ^H5080 the inhabitants ^H3427 of their city ^H5892 astray, saying ^H559, ‘Let us go ^H1980 and serve ^H5647 other ^H312 gods ^H430’ (whom ^H834 you have not known ^H3045), 14 then you shall inquire ^H1875 and search ^H2713 out ^H1875 and ask ^H7592 thoroughly ^H3190.
