Prophecy Against Mount Seir

1 Moreover, the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 came ^H1961 to me saying ^H559,

2 “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, set ^H7760 your face ^H6440 against ^H5921 Mount ^H2022 Seir ^H8165 and prophesy ^H5012 against ^H5921 it 3 and say ^H559 to it, ‘Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068,

“Behold ^H2009, I am against ^H413 you, Mount ^H2022 Seir ^H8165,

And I will stretch ^H5186 out ^H5186 My hand ^H3027 against ^H5921 you

And make ^H5414 you a desolation ^H8077 and a desecration ^H4923.

4 “I will lay ^H7760 waste ^H2723 your cities ^H5892,

And you will become ^H1961 a desolation ^H8077.

Then you will know ^H3045 that I am Yahweh ^H3068.

5 Because ^H3282 you have had ^H1961 everlasting ^H5769 enmity ^H342 and have [fn]delivered ^H5064 the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 to the power ^H3027 of the sword ^H2719 at the time ^H6256 of their disaster ^H343, at the time ^H6256 of the [fn]punishment ^H5771 of the end ^H7093, 6 therefore ^H3651 as I live ^H2416,” declares ^H5002 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “I will [fn]prepare ^H6213 you for bloodshed ^H1818, and bloodshed ^H1818 will pursue ^H7291 you; you surely ^H518 have not hated ^H8130 bloodshed ^H1818, so bloodshed ^H1818 will pursue ^H7291 you. 7 I will make ^H5414 Mount ^H2022 Seir ^H8165 a waste ^H8077 and a desolation ^H8077, and I will cut ^H3772 off ^H3772 from it the one who passes ^H5674 through ^H5674 and returns ^H7725. 8 I will fill ^H4390 its mountains ^H2022 with its slain ^H2491; on your hills ^H1389 and in your valleys ^H1516 and in all ^H3605 your ravines ^H650 those slain ^H2491 by the sword ^H2719 will [fn]fall ^H5307. 9 I will make ^H5414 you an everlasting ^H5769 desolation ^H8077, and your cities ^H5892 will not be inhabited ^H3427. Then you will know ^H3045 that I am Yahweh ^H3068.

10 “Because ^H3282 you have said ^H559, ‘These two ^H8147 nations ^H1471 and these two ^H8147 lands ^H776 will be mine, and we will possess ^H3423 [fn]them,’ although Yahweh ^H3068 was there ^H8033, 11 therefore ^H3651 as I live ^H2416,” declares ^H5002 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “I will deal ^H6213 with you according to your anger ^H639 and according to your jealousy ^H7068 which ^H834 you dealt ^H6213 with them because ^H4480 of your hatred ^H8135 against them; so I will make ^H3045 Myself known ^H3045 among them when ^H834 I judge ^H8199 you. 12 Then you will know ^H3045 [fn]that I, Yahweh ^H3068, have heard ^H8085 all ^H3605 your [fn]contempt ^H5007 which ^H834 you have spoken ^H559 against ^H5921 the mountains ^H2022 of Israel ^H3478 saying ^H559, ‘They are ^H8074 laid ^H8074 desolate ^H8074; they are given ^H5414 to us for food ^H402.’ 13 And you have magnified ^H1431 yourselves with your mouth ^H6310 against ^H5921 Me and have multiplied ^H6280 your words ^H1697 against ^H5921 Me; I have heard ^H8085 it.” 14 Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “As all ^H3605 the earth ^H776 delights ^H8055, I will make ^H6213 you a desolation ^H8077. 15 As you delighted ^H8055 over the inheritance ^H5159 of the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 because ^H5921 H834 it was ^H8074 desolate ^H8074, so ^H3651 I will do ^H6213 to you. You will be a desolation ^H8077, O Mount ^H2022 Seir ^H8165, and all ^H3605 Edom ^H123, all ^H3605 of it. Then they will know ^H3045 that I am Yahweh ^H3068.”’
