Mountains of Israel Will Bear Fruit

1 “Now as for you, son ^H1121 of man ^H120, prophesy ^H5012 to the mountains ^H2022 of Israel ^H3478 and say ^H559, ‘O mountains ^H2022 of Israel ^H3478, hear ^H8085 the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068.

2 Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “Because ^H3282 the enemy ^H340 has spoken ^H559 against ^H5921 you, ‘Aha ^H1889!’ and, ‘The everlasting ^H5769 [fn]heights ^H1116 have become ^H1961 our possession ^H4181,’ 3 therefore ^H3651 prophesy ^H5012 and say ^H559, ‘Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “[fn]For good reason ^H3282 they have made ^H8074 you desolate ^H8074 and bruised ^H7602 you from every ^H5439 side ^H5439, that you would become ^H1961 a possession ^H4181 of the rest ^H7611 of the nations ^H1471, and you have been taken ^H5927 up ^H5927 in the [fn]speech ^H8193 of their tongue ^H3956 and the rumors ^H1681 of the people ^H5971.”’” 4 Therefore ^H3651, O mountains ^H2022 of Israel ^H3478, hear ^H8085 the word ^H1697 of Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068. Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068 to the mountains ^H2022 and to the hills ^H1389, to the ravines ^H650 and to the valleys ^H1516, to the desolate ^H8074 wastes ^H2723 and to the forsaken ^H5800 cities ^H5892 which ^H834 have become ^H1961 plunder ^H957 and objects of scoffing ^H3933 to the rest ^H7611 of the nations ^H1471 which ^H834 are round ^H5439 about ^H5439, 5 therefore ^H3651 thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “Surely ^H518 H3808 in the fire ^H784 of My jealousy ^H7068 I have spoken ^H1696 against ^H5921 the rest ^H7611 of the nations ^H1471 and against ^H5921 all ^H3605 Edom ^H123, who ^H834 gave ^H5414 My land ^H776 to themselves as a possession ^H4181 with wholehearted ^H3605 H3824 gladness ^H8057 and with scorn ^H7589 of soul ^H5315, to drive ^H1644 it out ^H1644 for plunder ^H957.” 6 Therefore ^H3651 prophesy ^H5012 concerning ^H5921 the land ^H127 of Israel ^H3478 and say ^H559 to the mountains ^H2022 and to the hills ^H1389, to the ravines ^H650 and to the valleys ^H1516, “Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, ‘Behold ^H2009, I have spoken ^H1696 in My jealousy ^H7068 and in My wrath ^H2534 because ^H3282 you have borne ^H5375 the dishonor ^H3639 of the nations ^H1471.’ 7 Therefore ^H3651 thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, ‘I have [fn]sworn ^H5375 H3027 that surely ^H518 H3808 the nations ^H1471 which ^H834 are around ^H5439 you will themselves ^H1992 bear ^H5375 their dishonor ^H3639. 8 But you, O mountains ^H2022 of Israel ^H3478, you will put ^H5414 forth your branches ^H6057 and bear ^H5375 your fruit ^H6529 for My people ^H5971 Israel ^H3478; for they will soon ^H7126 come ^H935. 9 For, behold ^H2009, I am for you, and I will turn ^H6437 to you, and you will be cultivated ^H5647 and sown ^H2232. 10 I will multiply ^H7235 men ^H120 on you, all ^H3605 the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478, all ^H3605 of it; and the cities ^H5892 will be inhabited ^H3427, and the waste ^H2723 places ^H2723 will be rebuilt ^H1129. 11 I will multiply ^H7235 on you man ^H120 and beast ^H929; and they will multiply ^H7235 and be fruitful ^H6509; and I will cause you to be inhabited ^H3427 as you were formerly ^H6927 and will [fn]treat ^H3190 you better ^H3190 than ^H4480 at the first ^H7221. Thus you will know ^H3045 that I am Yahweh ^H3068. 12 And I will cause men ^H120—My people ^H5971 Israel ^H3478—to walk ^H1980 on you and possess ^H3423 you so that you will become ^H1961 their inheritance ^H5159 and never ^H3808 H5750 again ^H3254 bereave ^H7921 them of ^H7921 children ^H7921.’

13 “Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, ‘Because ^H3282 they say ^H559 to you, “You are a devourer ^H398 of men ^H120 and have bereaved ^H7921 your [fn]nation ^H1471 of ^H7921 children ^H7921,” 14 therefore ^H3651 you will no ^H3808 longer ^H5750 devour ^H398 men ^H120 and no ^H3808 longer ^H5750 bereave ^H7921 your nation ^H1471 of ^H7921 children ^H7921,’ declares ^H5002 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068. 15 I will not let you hear ^H8085 dishonor ^H3639 from the nations ^H1471 anymore ^H5750, nor ^H3808 will you bear ^H5375 reproach ^H2781 from the peoples ^H5971 any ^H5750 longer ^H5750, nor ^H3808 will you cause your nation ^H1471 to stumble ^H3782 any ^H5750 longer ^H5750,” declares ^H5002 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068.’”

Yahweh’s Name Profaned Among the Nations

16 Then the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 came ^H1961 to me saying ^H559,

17 “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, when the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 was living ^H3427 in their own land ^H127, they defiled ^H2930 it by their ways ^H1870 and their deeds ^H5949; their way ^H1870 before ^H6440 Me was like the uncleanness ^H2932 of a woman in her impurity ^H5079. 18 Therefore I poured ^H8210 out ^H8210 My wrath ^H2534 on them for the blood ^H1818 which ^H834 they had shed ^H8210 on the land ^H776, because they had defiled ^H2930 it with their idols ^H1544. 19 Also I scattered ^H6327 them among the nations ^H1471, and they were dispersed ^H2219 throughout the lands ^H776. According to their ways ^H1870 and their deeds ^H5949 I judged ^H8199 them. 20 Then they came ^H935 to the nations ^H1471 to which ^H834 H8033 they came ^H935. And they profaned ^H2490 My holy ^H6944 name ^H8034 because it was said ^H559 of them, ‘These ^H428 are the people ^H5971 of Yahweh ^H3068; yet they have come ^H3381 out ^H3381 of His land ^H776.’ 21 But I [fn]had ^H2550 concern ^H2550 for My holy ^H6944 name ^H8034, which ^H834 the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 had profaned ^H2490 among the nations ^H1471 where ^H834 H8033 they went ^H935.

They Will Know That I Am Yahweh

22 “Therefore ^H3651 say ^H559 to the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478, ‘Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “It is not for your sake ^H4616, O house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478, that I am about to act ^H6213, but for My holy ^H6944 name ^H8034, which ^H834 you have profaned ^H2490 among the nations ^H1471, to which ^H834 H8033 you have come ^H935.

23 I will prove ^H6942 the holiness ^H6942 of My great ^H1419 name ^H8034 which has been profaned ^H2490 among the nations ^H1471, which ^H834 you have profaned ^H2490 in their midst ^H8432. Then the nations ^H1471 will know ^H3045 that I am Yahweh ^H3068,” declares ^H5002 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “when I prove ^H6942 Myself holy ^H6942 among you in their sight ^H5869. 24 And I will take ^H3947 you from the nations ^H1471, gather ^H6908 you from all ^H3605 the lands ^H776, and bring ^H935 you into your own land ^H127. 25 Then I will [fn]sprinkle ^H2236 clean ^H2889 water ^H4325 on you, and you will be ^H2891 clean ^H2891; I will cleanse ^H2891 you from all ^H3605 your uncleanness ^H2932 and from all ^H3605 your idols ^H1544. 26 Moreover, I will give ^H5414 you a new ^H2319 heart ^H3820 and put ^H5414 a new ^H2319 spirit ^H7307 within ^H7130 you; and I will remove ^H5493 the heart ^H3820 of stone ^H68 from your flesh ^H1320 and give ^H5414 you a heart ^H3820 of flesh ^H1320. 27 I will put ^H5414 My Spirit ^H7307 within ^H7130 you and cause ^H6213 you to walk ^H1980 in My statutes ^H2706, and you will be ^H8104 careful ^H8104 to do ^H6213 My judgments ^H4941. 28 And you will inhabit ^H3427 the land ^H776 that I gave ^H5414 to your fathers ^H1; so you will be My people ^H5971, and I will be your God ^H430. 29 Moreover, I will save ^H3467 you from all ^H3605 your uncleanness ^H2932; and I will call ^H7121 for the grain ^H1715 and multiply ^H7235 it, and I will not [fn]bring ^H5414 a famine ^H7458 on you. 30 I will multiply ^H7235 the fruit ^H6529 of the tree ^H6086 and the produce ^H8570 of the field ^H7704 so ^H4616 that you will not receive ^H3947 again ^H5750 the reproach ^H2781 of famine ^H7458 among the nations ^H1471. 31 Then you will remember ^H2142 your evil ^H7451 ways ^H1870 and your deeds ^H4611 that were not good ^H2896, and you will loathe ^H6962 yourselves to your own faces ^H6440 for your iniquities ^H5771 and your abominations ^H8441. 32 I am not doing ^H6213 this for your sake ^H4616,” declares ^H5002 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “let it be known ^H3045 to you. Be ^H954 ashamed ^H954 and feel ^H3637 dishonor ^H3637 for your ways ^H1870, O house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478!”

33 ‘Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “On the day ^H3117 that I cleanse ^H2891 you from all ^H3605 your iniquities ^H5771, I will cause the cities ^H5892 to be inhabited ^H3427, and the waste ^H2723 places ^H2723 will be rebuilt ^H1129. 34 The desolate ^H8074 land ^H776 will be cultivated ^H5647 instead ^H8478 of ^H8478 being ^H1961 a desolation ^H8077 in the sight ^H5869 of everyone ^H3605 who passes ^H5674 by ^H5674. 35 And they will say ^H559, ‘This ^H1976 desolate ^H8074 land ^H776 has become ^H1961 like the garden ^H1588 of Eden ^H5731; and the waste ^H2720, desolate ^H8074, and [fn]ruined ^H2040 cities ^H5892 are fortified ^H1219 and inhabited ^H3427.’ 36 Then the nations ^H1471 that remain ^H7604 all ^H5439 around ^H5439 you will know ^H3045 that I, Yahweh ^H3068, have rebuilt ^H1129 the ruined ^H2040 places and planted ^H5193 that which was ^H8074 desolate ^H8074; I, Yahweh ^H3068, have spoken ^H1696 and will do ^H6213 it.”

37 ‘Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “This ^H2088 also ^H5750 I will let the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 inquire ^H1875 of Me to do ^H6213 for them: I will increase ^H7235 their men ^H120 like a flock ^H6629. 38 Like the flock ^H6629 for holy ^H6944 offerings, like the flock ^H6629 at Jerusalem ^H3389 during her appointed ^H4150 times ^H4150, so ^H3651 will the waste ^H2720 cities ^H5892 be filled ^H4392 with flocks ^H6629 of men ^H120. Then they will know ^H3045 that I am Yahweh ^H3068.”’”
