Visions of the House of Yahweh

1 In the twenty-fifth ^H6242 H2568 year ^H8141 of our exile ^H1546, at the beginning ^H7218 of the year ^H8141, on the tenth ^H6218 of the month ^H2320, in the fourteenth ^H702 H6240 year ^H8141 after ^H310 the city ^H5892 was struck ^H5221 down ^H5221, on that same ^H6106 day ^H3117 the hand ^H3027 of Yahweh ^H3068 was upon me, and He brought ^H935 me there ^H8033.

2 In the visions ^H4759 of God ^H430 He brought ^H935 me into the land ^H776 of Israel ^H3478 and caused me to rest ^H5117 on a very ^H3966 high ^H1364 mountain ^H2022, and on it to the south ^H5045 there was a structure ^H4011 like a city ^H5892. 3 So He brought ^H935 me there ^H8033; and behold ^H2009, there was a man ^H376 whose appearance ^H4758 was like the appearance ^H4758 of bronze ^H5178, with a line ^H6616 of flax ^H6593 and a measuring ^H4060 [fn]rod ^H7070 in his hand ^H3027; and he was standing ^H5975 in the gateway ^H8179. 4 And the man ^H376 spoke ^H1696 to me, “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, see ^H7200 with your eyes ^H5869, hear ^H8085 with your ears ^H241, and set ^H7760 your heart ^H3820 on all ^H3605 that I am going to show ^H7200 you; for you have been brought ^H935 here ^H2008 in ^H935 order ^H4616 to show ^H7200 it to you. Declare ^H5046 to the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 all ^H3605 that you are seeing ^H7200.”

The East Gate

5 And behold ^H2009, there was a wall ^H2346 on the outside ^H2351 of the house ^H1004 of Yahweh all ^H5439 around ^H5439, and in the man’s ^H376 hand ^H3027 was a measuring ^H4060 rod ^H7070 of six ^H8337 cubits ^H520, each of which was a [fn]cubit ^H520 and a [fn]handbreadth ^H2948. So he measured ^H4058 the thickness ^H7341 of the [fn]wall ^H2346, one ^H259 rod ^H7070; and the height ^H6967, one ^H259 rod ^H7070.

6 Then he went ^H935 to the gate ^H8179 which ^H834 faced ^H6440 east ^H6921, went ^H5927 up ^H5927 its steps ^H4609, and measured ^H4058 the threshold ^H5592 of the gate ^H8179, one ^H259 rod ^H7070 [fn]in width ^H7341; and the other ^H259 threshold ^H5592 was one ^H259 rod ^H7070 [fn]in width ^H7341. 7 The guardroom ^H8372 was one ^H259 rod ^H7070 long ^H753 and one ^H259 rod ^H7070 wide ^H7341; and there were five ^H2568 cubits ^H520 between ^H996 the guardrooms ^H8372. And the threshold ^H5592 of the gate ^H8179 by the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 [fn]facing ^H4480 inward ^H1004 was one ^H259 rod ^H7070. 8 Then he measured ^H4058 the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 [fn]facing ^H4480 inward ^H1004, one ^H259 rod ^H7070. 9 He measured ^H4058 the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179, eight ^H8083 cubits ^H520; and its side ^H352 pillars ^H352, two ^H8147 cubits ^H520. And the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 was [fn]faced ^H1004 inward ^H1004. 10 The guardrooms ^H8372 of the gate ^H8179 toward ^H1870 the east ^H6921 numbered three ^H7969 on each ^H6311 side ^H6311; the three ^H7969 of them had the same ^H259 measurement ^H4060. The side ^H352 pillars ^H352 also had the same ^H259 measurement ^H4060 on each ^H6311 side ^H6311. 11 And he measured ^H4058 the width ^H7341 of the entrance ^H6607 of the gate ^H8179, ten ^H6235 cubits ^H520, and the length ^H753 of the gate ^H8179, thirteen ^H7969 H6240 cubits ^H520. 12 There was a [fn]barrier ^H1366 wall one ^H259 cubit ^H520 wide in front ^H6440 of the guardrooms ^H8372 on each ^H6311 side ^H6311; and the guardrooms ^H8372 were six ^H8337 cubits ^H520 square on each ^H6311 side ^H6311. 13 He measured ^H4058 the gate ^H8179 from the roof ^H1406 of the one guardroom ^H8372 to the roof ^H1406 of the other, a width ^H7341 of twenty-five ^H6242 H2568 cubits ^H520 from one door ^H6607 to the door ^H6607 opposite ^H5048. 14 He made ^H6213 the side ^H352 pillars ^H352 sixty ^H8346 cubits ^H520 high; the gate ^H8179 extended round ^H5439 about ^H5439 to the side ^H352 pillar ^H352 of the courtyard ^H2691. 15 From the front ^H6440 of the entrance ^H2978 gate ^H8179 to the front ^H6440 of the inner ^H6442 porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 was fifty ^H2572 cubits ^H520. 16 There were [fn]shuttered ^H331 windows ^H2474 looking toward ^H413 the guardrooms ^H8372 and toward ^H413 their side ^H352 pillars ^H352 within ^H6441 the gate ^H8179 all ^H5439 around ^H5439, and likewise ^H3651 for the porches ^H361. And there were windows ^H2474 all ^H5439 around ^H5439 inside ^H6441; and on each side ^H352 pillar ^H352 were palm ^H8561 tree ^H8561 ornaments ^H8561.

The Outer Court Chambers

17 Then he brought ^H935 me into the outer ^H2435 court ^H2691, and behold ^H2009, there were chambers ^H3957 and a pavement ^H7531 made ^H6213 for the court ^H2691 all ^H5439 around ^H5439; thirty ^H7970 chambers ^H3957 [fn]faced ^H413 the pavement ^H7531.

18 The pavement ^H7531 (that is, the lower ^H8481 pavement ^H7531) was by the [fn]side ^H3802 of the gates ^H8179, corresponding ^H5980 to the length ^H753 of the gates ^H8179. 19 Then he measured ^H4058 the width ^H7341 from the front ^H6440 of the lower ^H8481 gate ^H8179 to the front ^H6440 of the exterior ^H2351 of the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691, [fn]one hundred ^H3967 cubits ^H520 on the east ^H6921 and on the north ^H6828.

The North Gate

20 As for the gate ^H8179 of the outer ^H2435 court ^H2691 which ^H834 faced ^H6440 the north ^H6828, he measured ^H4058 its length ^H753 and its width ^H7341.

21 [fn]It had three ^H7969 guardrooms ^H8372 on each ^H6311 side ^H6311; and its side ^H352 pillars ^H352 and its porches ^H361 [fn]had ^H1961 the same measurement ^H4060 as the first ^H7223 gate ^H8179. Its length ^H753 was [fn]fifty ^H2572 cubits ^H520 and the width ^H7341 twenty-five ^H6242 H2568 cubits ^H520. 22 Its windows ^H2474 and its porches ^H361 and its palm ^H8561 tree ^H8561 ornaments ^H8561 had the same measurements ^H4060 as the gate ^H8179 which ^H834 faced ^H6440 toward ^H1870 the east ^H6921; and [fn]it was reached ^H5927 by seven ^H7651 steps ^H4609, and its [fn]porch ^H361 was in front ^H6440 of them. 23 The inner ^H6442 court ^H2691 had a gate ^H8179 opposite ^H5048 the gate ^H8179 on the north ^H6828 as well as the gate on the east ^H6921; and he measured ^H4058 one hundred ^H3967 cubits ^H520 from gate ^H8179 to gate ^H8179.

The South Gate

24 Then he led ^H1980 me toward ^H1870 the south ^H1864, and behold ^H2009, there was a gate ^H8179 toward ^H1870 the south ^H1864; and he measured ^H4058 its side ^H352 pillars ^H352 and its porches ^H361 according to [fn]those ^H428 same measurements ^H4060.

25 [fn]The gate and its porches ^H361 had windows ^H2474 all ^H5439 around ^H5439 like [fn]those ^H428 other windows ^H2474; the length ^H753 was fifty ^H2572 cubits ^H520 and the width ^H7341 twenty-five ^H6242 H2568 cubits ^H520. 26 There were seven ^H7651 steps ^H4609 going ^H5927 up ^H5927 to it, and its porches ^H361 were in front ^H6440 of them; and it had palm ^H8561 tree ^H8561 ornaments ^H8561 on its side ^H352 pillars ^H352, one ^H259 on each ^H6311 side ^H6311. 27 The inner ^H6442 court ^H2691 had a gate ^H8179 toward ^H1870 the south ^H1864; and he measured ^H4058 from gate ^H8179 to gate ^H8179 toward ^H1870 the south ^H1864, one hundred ^H3967 cubits ^H520.

The Inner Court Gates

28 Then he brought ^H935 me to the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691 by the south ^H1864 gate ^H8179; and he measured ^H4058 the south ^H1864 gate ^H8179 according to those ^H428 same measurements ^H4060.

29 Its guardrooms ^H8372 also, its side ^H352 pillars ^H352, and its porches ^H361 were according to those ^H428 same measurements ^H4060. And [fn]the gate and its porches ^H361 had windows ^H2474 all ^H5439 around ^H5439; it was fifty ^H2572 cubits ^H520 long ^H753 and twenty-five ^H6242 H2568 cubits ^H520 wide ^H7341. 30 There were porches ^H361 all ^H5439 around ^H5439, twenty-five ^H6242 H2568 cubits ^H520 long ^H753 and five ^H2568 cubits ^H520 wide ^H7341. 31 Its porches ^H361 were toward ^H413 the outer ^H2435 court ^H2691; and palm ^H8561 tree ^H8561 ornaments ^H8561 were on its side ^H352 pillars ^H352, and its stairway ^H4608 had eight ^H8083 steps ^H4609.

32 Then he brought ^H935 me into the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691 toward ^H1870 the east ^H6921. And he measured ^H4058 the gate ^H8179 according to those ^H428 same measurements ^H4060. 33 Its guardrooms ^H8372 also, its side ^H352 pillars ^H352, and its porches ^H361 were according to those ^H428 same measurements ^H4060. And [fn]the gate and its porches ^H361 had windows ^H2474 all ^H5439 around ^H5439; it was fifty ^H2572 cubits ^H520 long ^H753 and twenty-five ^H6242 H2568 cubits ^H520 wide ^H7341. 34 Its porches ^H361 were toward the outer ^H2435 court ^H2691; and palm ^H8561 tree ^H8561 ornaments ^H8561 were on its side ^H352 pillars ^H352, on each ^H6311 side ^H6311, and its stairway ^H4608 had eight ^H8083 steps ^H4609.

35 Then he brought ^H935 me to the north ^H6828 gate ^H8179; and he measured ^H4058 it according to those ^H428 same measurements ^H4060, 36 with its guardrooms ^H8372, its side ^H352 pillars ^H352, and its porches ^H361. And [fn]the gate had windows ^H2474 all ^H5439 around ^H5439; the length ^H753 was fifty ^H2572 cubits ^H520 and the width ^H7341 twenty-five ^H6242 H2568 cubits ^H520. 37 Its side ^H352 pillars ^H352 were toward the outer ^H2435 court ^H2691; and palm ^H8561 tree ^H8561 ornaments ^H8561 were on its side ^H352 pillars ^H352 on each ^H6311 side ^H6311, and its stairway ^H4608 had eight ^H8083 steps ^H4609.

38 A chamber ^H3957 with its doorway ^H6607 was by the side ^H352 pillars ^H352 at the gates ^H8179; there ^H8033 they rinse ^H1740 the burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930. 39 In the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 were two ^H8147 tables ^H7979 on each ^H6311 side ^H6311, on which to slaughter ^H7819 the burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930, the sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403 and the guilt ^H817 offering ^H817. 40 On the outer ^H2351 [fn]side ^H3802, [fn]as one went ^H5927 up ^H5927 to the entrance ^H6607 of the gate ^H8179 toward the north ^H6828, were two ^H8147 tables ^H7979; and on the other ^H312 [fn]side ^H3802 of the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 were two ^H8147 tables ^H7979. 41 Four ^H702 tables ^H7979 were on each ^H6311 side ^H6311 [fn]next ^H3802 to the gate ^H8179; or, eight ^H8083 tables ^H7979 on which they slaughter ^H7819 sacrifices. 42 For the burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930 there were four ^H702 tables ^H7979 of cut ^H1496 stone ^H68, a cubit ^H520 and a half ^H2677 long ^H753, a cubit ^H520 and a half ^H2677 wide ^H7341, and one ^H259 cubit ^H520 high ^H1363, on which they lay ^H5117 the instruments ^H3627 with which ^H834 they slaughter ^H7819 the burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930 and the sacrifice ^H2077. 43 The double ^H8240 [fn]hooks ^H8240, one ^H259 handbreadth ^H2948 in length, were installed ^H3559 [fn]in the house ^H1004 all ^H5439 around ^H5439; and on the tables ^H7979 was the flesh ^H1320 of the offering ^H7133.

The Chambers for the Priests

44 From the outside ^H2351 to the inner ^H6442 gate ^H8179 were [fn]chambers ^H3957 for the singers ^H7891 in the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691, one of which ^H834 was at the [fn]side ^H3802 of the north ^H6828 gate ^H8179, with [fn]its front ^H6440 toward ^H1870 the south ^H1864, and one ^H259 at the [fn]side ^H3802 of the [fn]south gate ^H8179 facing ^H6440 toward ^H1870 the north ^H6828.

45 Then he said ^H1696 to me, “This ^H2090 is the chamber ^H3957 which ^H834 faces ^H6440 toward ^H1870 the south ^H1864, intended for the priests ^H3548 who keep ^H8104 the responsibility ^H4931 of the house ^H1004; 46 but the chamber ^H3957 which ^H834 faces ^H6440 toward ^H1870 the north ^H6828 is for the priests ^H3548 who keep ^H8104 the responsibility ^H4931 of the altar ^H4196. These ^H1992 are the sons ^H1121 of Zadok ^H6659, who from the sons ^H1121 of Levi ^H3878 come ^H7131 near ^H7131 to Yahweh ^H3068 to minister ^H8334 to Him.” 47 He measured ^H4058 the court ^H2691, a perfect square ^H7251, one hundred ^H3967 cubits ^H520 long ^H753 and one hundred ^H3967 cubits ^H520 wide ^H7341; and the altar ^H4196 was in front ^H6440 of the house ^H1004.

The Porch

48 Then he brought ^H935 me to the porch ^H197 of the house ^H1004 and measured ^H4058 each side ^H352 pillar ^H352 of the porch ^H197, five ^H2568 cubits ^H520 on each ^H6311 side ^H6311; and the width ^H7341 of the gate ^H8179 was three ^H7969 cubits ^H520 on each ^H6311 side ^H6311.

49 The length ^H753 of the porch ^H197 was twenty ^H6242 cubits ^H520 and the width ^H7341 eleven ^H6249 H6240 cubits ^H520; and at the stairway ^H4609 by which ^H834 it was ascended ^H5927 were columns ^H5982 belonging to the side ^H352 pillars ^H352, one ^H259 on each ^H6311 side ^H6311.
