Yahweh’s Glory Returns to the Temple

1 Then he led ^H1980 me to the gate ^H8179, the gate ^H8179 facing ^H6437 toward ^H1870 the east ^H6921;

2 and behold ^H2009, the glory ^H3519 of the God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478 was coming ^H935 from the way ^H1870 of the east ^H6921. And His voice ^H6963 was like the sound ^H6963 of many ^H7227 waters ^H4325; and the earth ^H776 shone ^H215 with His glory ^H3519. 3 And it was like the appearance ^H4758 of the vision ^H4758 which ^H834 I saw ^H7200, like the vision ^H4758 which ^H834 I saw ^H7200 when [fn]He came ^H935 to bring ^H7843 the city ^H5892 to ruin ^H7843. And the visions ^H4759 were like the vision ^H4758 which ^H834 I saw ^H7200 by the river ^H5104 Chebar ^H3529; and I fell ^H5307 on my face ^H6440. 4 And the glory ^H3519 of Yahweh ^H3068 came ^H935 into the house ^H1004 by the way ^H1870 of the gate ^H8179 facing ^H6440 toward ^H1870 the east ^H6921. 5 And the Spirit ^H7307 lifted ^H5375 me up ^H5375 and brought ^H935 me into the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691; and behold ^H2009, the glory ^H3519 of Yahweh ^H3068 filled ^H4390 the house ^H1004.

6 Then I heard ^H8085 one speaking ^H1696 to me from the house ^H1004, while a man ^H376 was standing ^H5975 beside ^H681 me. 7 He said ^H559 to me, “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, this is the place ^H4725 of My throne ^H3678 and the place ^H4725 of the soles ^H3709 of My feet ^H7272, where ^H834 H8033 I will dwell ^H7931 among ^H8432 the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 forever ^H5769. And the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 will not again ^H5750 defile ^H2930 My holy ^H6944 name ^H8034, neither they nor ^H3808 their kings ^H4428, by their harlotry ^H2184 and by the [fn]corpses ^H6297 of their kings ^H4428 [fn]when they die ^H4194, 8 by putting ^H5414 their threshold ^H5592 by My threshold ^H5592 and their door ^H4201 post ^H4201 beside ^H681 My door ^H4201 post ^H4201, with only the wall ^H7023 between ^H996 Me and them. And they have defiled ^H2930 My holy ^H6944 name ^H8034 by their abominations ^H8441 which ^H834 they have done ^H6213. So I have consumed ^H3615 them in My anger ^H639. 9 Now ^H6258 let them put ^H7368 away ^H7368 their harlotry ^H2184 and the [fn]corpses ^H6297 of their kings ^H4428 far ^H7368 from Me; and I will dwell ^H7931 among ^H8432 them forever ^H5769.

10 “As for you, son ^H1121 of man ^H120, [fn]describe ^H5046 the house ^H1004 of Yahweh to the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478, that they may feel ^H3637 dishonor ^H3637 for their iniquities ^H5771; and let them measure ^H4058 the [fn]plan ^H8508. 11 If ^H518 they feel ^H3637 dishonor ^H3637 for all ^H3605 that they have done ^H6213, make ^H3045 known ^H3045 to them the [fn]design ^H6699 of the house ^H1004, its structure ^H8499, its exits ^H4161, its entrances ^H4126, all ^H3605 its designs ^H6699, all ^H3605 its statutes ^H2708[fn], and all ^H3605 its laws ^H8451. And write ^H3789 it in their sight ^H5869 so that they may keep ^H8104 its whole ^H3605 [fn]design ^H6699 and all ^H3605 its statutes ^H2708 and do ^H6213 them. 12 This ^H2088 is the [fn]law ^H8451 of the house ^H1004: within its entire ^H3605 boundary ^H1366, on the top ^H7218 of the mountain ^H2022 all ^H5439 around ^H5439, shall be most ^H6944 holy ^H6944. Behold ^H2009, this ^H2088 is the [fn]law ^H8451 of the house ^H1004.

The Altar and Offerings

13 “And these ^H428 are the measurements ^H4060 of the altar ^H4196 by cubits ^H520 (the cubit ^H520 being a [fn]cubit ^H520 and a [fn]handbreadth ^H2948): the [fn]base ^H2436 shall be a cubit ^H520 and the width ^H7341 a cubit ^H520, and its border ^H1366 on its edge ^H8193 round ^H5439 about ^H5439 one ^H259 [fn]span ^H2239; and this ^H2088 shall be the height of the [fn]base ^H1354 of the altar ^H4196.

14 And from the base ^H2436 on the ground ^H776 to the lower ^H8481 ledge ^H5835 shall be two ^H8147 [fn]cubits ^H520 and the width ^H7341 one cubit ^H520; and from the smaller ^H6996 ledge ^H5835 to the larger ^H1419 ledge ^H5835 shall be four ^H702 cubits ^H520 and the width ^H7341 [fn]one ^H259 cubit ^H520. 15 And the [fn]altar ^H741 hearth ^H741 shall be four ^H702 cubits ^H520; and from the [fn]altar ^H741 hearth ^H741 shall extend upwards ^H4605 four ^H702 horns ^H7161. 16 Now the [fn]altar ^H741 hearth ^H741 shall be [fn]twelve ^H8147 H6240 cubits long ^H753 by twelve ^H8147 H6240 wide ^H7341, square ^H7251 in its four ^H702 sides ^H7253. 17 The ledge ^H5835 shall be [fn]fourteen ^H702 H6240 cubits long ^H753 by fourteen ^H702 H6240 wide ^H7341 in its four ^H702 sides ^H7253; the border ^H1366 around ^H5439 it shall be half ^H2677 a cubit ^H520, and its base ^H2436 shall be a cubit ^H520 round ^H5439 about ^H5439; and its steps ^H4609 shall [fn]face ^H6437 the east ^H6921.”

18 And He said ^H559 to me, “Son ^H1121 of man ^H120, thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, ‘These ^H428 are the statutes ^H2708 for the altar ^H4196 on the day ^H3117 it is made ^H6213, to offer ^H5927 burnt ^H5930 offerings ^H5930 on it and to splash ^H2236 blood ^H1818 on it. 19 And you shall give ^H5414 to the Levitical ^H3881 priests ^H3548 who ^H834 are from the seed ^H2233 of Zadok ^H6659, who draw ^H7126 near ^H7138 to Me to minister ^H8334 to Me,’ declares ^H5002 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, ‘a bull ^H6499 from the herd ^H1121 H1241 for a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403. 20 You shall also take ^H3947 some ^H4480 of its blood ^H1818 and put ^H5414 it on its four ^H702 horns ^H7161 and on the four ^H702 corners ^H6438 of the ledge ^H5835 and on the border ^H1366 round ^H5439 about ^H5439; thus you shall purify ^H2398 it and make ^H3722 atonement ^H3722 for it. 21 And you shall take ^H3947 the bull ^H6499 for the sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403, and it shall be burned ^H8313 in the appointed ^H4662 place ^H4662 of the house ^H1004, outside ^H4480 H2351 the sanctuary ^H4720.

22 ‘Now on the second ^H8145 day ^H3117 you shall bring ^H7126 near ^H7126 a male ^H8163 goat ^H5795 without ^H8549 blemish ^H8549 for a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403, and they shall purify ^H2398 the altar ^H4196 as they purified ^H2398 it with the bull ^H6499. 23 When you have finished ^H3615 purifying ^H2398 it, you shall present ^H7126 a bull ^H6499 from the herd ^H1121 H1241 without ^H8549 blemish ^H8549 and a ram ^H352 without ^H8549 blemish ^H8549 from the flock ^H6629. 24 And you shall bring ^H7126 them near ^H7126 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068, and the priests ^H3548 shall throw ^H7993 salt ^H4417 on them, and they shall offer ^H5927 them up ^H5927 as a burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930 to Yahweh ^H3068. 25 For seven ^H7651 days ^H3117 you shall offer ^H6213 daily ^H3117 a goat ^H8163 for a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403; also a bull ^H6499 from the herd ^H1121 H1241 and a ram ^H352 from the flock ^H6629, without ^H8549 blemish ^H8549, shall be offered ^H6213. 26 For seven ^H7651 days ^H3117 they shall make ^H3722 atonement ^H3722 for the altar ^H4196 and purify ^H2891 it; so shall they [fn]ordain ^H4390 H3027 it. 27 So they will complete ^H3615 the days ^H3117. And it shall be that on the eighth ^H8066 day ^H3117 and onward ^H1973, the priests ^H3548 shall [fn]offer ^H6213 on the altar ^H4196 your burnt ^H5930 offerings ^H5930 and your peace ^H8002 offerings ^H8002; and I will accept ^H7521 you,’ declares ^H5002 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068.”
