My Glory I Will Not Give to Another

1 “Hear ^H8085 this ^H2088, O house ^H1004 of Jacob ^H3290, who are called ^H7121 by the name ^H8034 Israel ^H3478

And who came ^H3318 forth ^H3318 from the [fn]loins ^H4325 of Judah ^H3063,

Who swear ^H7650 by the name ^H8034 of Yahweh ^H3068

And bring ^H2142 to remembrance ^H2142 the God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478,

But not in truth ^H571 or ^H3808 in righteousness ^H6666.

2 “For they call ^H7121 themselves after ^H4480 the holy ^H6944 city ^H5892

And are supported ^H5564 by the God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478;

Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635 is His name ^H8034.

3 “I declared ^H5046 the former ^H7223 things ^H7223 long ^H227 ago ^H227,

And they went ^H3318 forth ^H3318 from My mouth ^H6310, and I caused ^H8085 them to ^H8085 be ^H8085 heard ^H8085.

Suddenly ^H6597 I acted ^H6213, and they came ^H935 to pass ^H935.

4 “Because ^H4480 I know ^H3045 that you are [fn]stiff ^H7186,

And your neck ^H6203 is an iron ^H1270 sinew ^H1517

And your forehead ^H4696 bronze ^H5154,

5 Therefore I declared ^H5046 them to you long ^H227 ago ^H227,

Before ^H2962 [fn]they happened ^H935 I caused them to ^H8085 be ^H8085 heard ^H8085 by you,

Lest ^H6435 you say ^H559, ‘My idol ^H6090 has done ^H6213 them,

6 “You have heard ^H8085; look ^H2372 at all ^H3605 this.

And you, will you not declare ^H5046 it?

I caused you to hear ^H8085 new ^H2319 things ^H2319 from this ^H6258 time ^H6258,

Even hidden ^H5341 things ^H5341 which you have not known ^H3045.

7 “They are created ^H1254 now ^H6258 and not long ^H227 ago ^H227;

And before ^H6440 today ^H3117 you have not heard ^H8085 them,

Lest ^H6435 you say ^H559, ‘Behold ^H2009, I knew ^H3045 them.’

8 “Indeed, you have not heard ^H8085; indeed, you have not known ^H3045.

Indeed, even ^H1571 from long ^H227 ago ^H227 your ear ^H241 has not been open ^H6605

Because ^H3588 I knew ^H3045 that you would deal ^H898 very ^H898 treacherously ^H898;

And you have been called ^H7121 a [fn]transgressor ^H6586 from the [fn]womb ^H990.

9 “For the sake ^H4616 of My name ^H8034 I delay ^H748 My anger ^H639,

And for My praise ^H8416 I restrain ^H2413 it for you,

In order not to cut ^H3772 you off ^H3772.

10 “Behold ^H2009, I have refined ^H6884 you, but not as silver ^H3701;

I have tested ^H977 you in the furnace ^H3564 of affliction ^H6040.

11 “For My own sake ^H4616, for My own sake ^H4616, I will act ^H6213;

For how ^H349 can My name be profaned ^H2490?

And My glory ^H3519 I will not give ^H5414 to another ^H312.

Yahweh Redeems Jacob

12 “Hear ^H8085 Me, O Jacob ^H3290, even Israel ^H3478 [fn]whom I called ^H7121;

I am He, I am the first ^H7223, I am also ^H637 the last ^H314.

13 “Also ^H637, My hand ^H3027 founded ^H3245 the earth ^H776,

And My right ^H3225 hand ^H3225 spread ^H2946 out ^H2946 the heavens ^H8064;

When I call ^H7121 to them, they stand ^H5975 together ^H3162.

14 “Assemble ^H6908, all ^H3605 of you, and hear ^H8085!

Who ^H4310 among them has declared ^H5046 these ^H428 things ^H428?

Yahweh ^H3068 loves ^H157 him; he will carry ^H6213 out ^H6213 His good ^H2656 pleasure ^H2656 on Babylon ^H894,

And His arm ^H2220 will be against the Chaldeans ^H3778.

15 “I, even I, have spoken ^H1696; indeed ^H637 I have called ^H7121 him,

I have brought ^H935 him, and He will make ^H6743 his ways ^H1870 successful ^H6743.

16 “Draw ^H7126 near ^H7126 to Me, hear ^H8085 this ^H2088:

From the first ^H7218 I have not spoken ^H1696 in secret ^H5643,

From the time ^H6256 it took ^H1961 place ^H1961, I was there ^H8033.

So now ^H6258 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068 has sent ^H7971 Me, and His Spirit ^H7307.”

17 Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068, your Redeemer ^H1350, the Holy ^H6918 One ^H6918 of Israel ^H3478,

“I am Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430, who teaches ^H3925 you to profit ^H3276,

Who leads ^H1869 you in the way ^H1870 you should go ^H1980.

18 “If ^H3863 only ^H3863 you had paid ^H7181 attention ^H7181 to My commandments ^H4687!

Then your peace ^H7965 would have been ^H1961 like a river ^H5104,

And your righteousness ^H6666 like the waves ^H1530 of the sea ^H3220.

19 “Your seed ^H2233 would have been ^H1961 like the sand ^H2344,

And the offspring ^H6631 from your loins ^H4578 like its grains ^H4579;

Their name ^H8034 would never ^H3808 be cut ^H3772 off ^H3772 or destroyed ^H8045 from My presence ^H6440.”

20 Go ^H3318 forth ^H3318 from Babylon ^H894! Flee ^H1272 from the Chaldeans ^H3778!

Declare ^H5046 with the sound ^H6963 of joyful ^H7440 shouting ^H7440, cause ^H8085 this ^H2088 to ^H8085 be ^H8085 heard ^H8085,

Bring ^H3318 it forth ^H3318 to the end ^H7097 of the earth ^H776;

Say ^H559, “Yahweh ^H3068 has redeemed ^H1350 His servant ^H5650 Jacob ^H3290.”

21 And they did not thirst ^H6770 when He led ^H1980 them through the waste ^H2723 places ^H2723.

He made the water ^H4325 flow ^H5140 out of the rock ^H6697 for them;

He split ^H1234 the rock ^H6697, and the water ^H4325 gushed ^H2100 forth.

22 “There ^H369 is ^H369 no ^H369 peace ^H7965 for the wicked ^H7563,” says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068.
