Jesus’ Warning

1 “These ^G3778 things ^G3778 I have spoken ^G2980 to you so ^G2443 that you may be kept ^G3361 from stumbling ^G4624.

2 They will put ^G4160 you out ^G656 of ^G656 the ^G656 synagogue ^G656, but an hour ^G5610 is coming ^G2064 for everyone ^G3956 who kills ^G615 you to think ^G1380 that he is offering ^G4374 service ^G2999 to God ^G2316. 3 These ^G3778 things ^G3778 they will do ^G4160 because ^G3754 they did not know ^G1097 the Father ^G3962 or ^G3761 Me. 4 But these ^G3778 things ^G3778 I have spoken ^G2980 to you, so ^G2443 that when ^G3752 their hour ^G5610 comes ^G2064, you [fn]may remember ^G3421 that I told ^G3004 you of them. The Spirit Is Promised Again

12 “I still have ^G2192 many ^G4183 more ^G2089 things ^G4183 to say ^G3004 to you, but you cannot ^G1410 G3756 bear ^G941 them now ^G737. 13 But when ^G3752 He, the Spirit ^G4151 of truth ^G225, comes ^G2064, He will guide ^G3594 you into all ^G3956 the truth ^G225; for He will not speak ^G2980 from Himself ^G1438, but whatever ^G3745 He hears ^G191, He will speak ^G2980; and He will disclose ^G312 to you what is to come ^G2064. 14 He will glorify ^G1392 Me, for He will take ^G2983 of Mine ^G1699 and will disclose ^G312 it to you. 15 All ^G3956 things ^G3956 that the Father ^G3962 has ^G2192 are Mine ^G1699; therefore ^G1223 G3778 I said ^G3004 that He takes ^G2983 of Mine ^G1699 and will disclose ^G312 it to you.

Sorrow Turned to Joy

16 “A little ^G3398 while ^G3398, and you will no ^G3765 longer ^G3765 see ^G3708 Me; and again ^G3825 a little ^G3398 while ^G3398, and you will see ^G3708 Me.”

17 Some of His disciples ^G3101 then ^G3767 said ^G3004 to one ^G240 another ^G240, “What ^G5101 is this ^G3778 He is telling ^G3004 us, ‘A little ^G3398 while ^G3398, and you will not see ^G3708 Me; and again ^G3825 a little ^G3398 while ^G3398, and you will see ^G3708 Me’; and, ‘because ^G3754 I go ^G5217 to the Father ^G3962’?” 18 So ^G3767 they were saying ^G3004, “What ^G5101 is this ^G3778 that He says ^G3004, ‘A little ^G3398 while ^G3398’? I Have Overcome the World

23 And on that day ^G2250 you will not question ^G2065 Me about anything ^G5100. Truly ^G281, truly ^G281, I say ^G3004 to you, if ^G302 you ask ^G154 the Father ^G3962 for anything ^G5100 in My name ^G3686, He will give ^G1325 it to you. 24 Until ^G2193 now ^G737 you have asked ^G154 for nothing ^G3762 in My name ^G3686; ask ^G154 and you will receive ^G2983, so ^G2443 that your joy ^G5479 may be made ^G4137 complete ^G4137.

25 “These ^G3778 things ^G3778 I have spoken ^G2980 to you in figures ^G3942 of speech ^G3942; an hour ^G5610 is coming ^G2064 when ^G3753 I will no ^G3765 longer ^G3765 speak ^G2980 to you in figures ^G3942 of speech ^G3942, but will tell ^G518 you openly ^G3954 of the Father ^G3962. 26 On that day ^G2250 you will ask ^G154 in My name ^G3686, and I do not say ^G3004 to you that I will request ^G2065 of the Father ^G3962 on ^G4012 your behalf ^G4012; 27 for the Father ^G3962 Himself ^G846 loves ^G5368 you, because ^G3754 you have loved ^G5368 Me and have believed ^G4100 that I came ^G1831 forth ^G1831 from the Father ^G3962. 28 I came ^G1831 forth ^G1831 from the Father ^G3962 and have come ^G2064 into the world ^G2889; I am leaving ^G863 the world ^G2889 again ^G3825 and going ^G4198 to the Father ^G3962.”

In the world ^G2889 you have ^G2192 tribulation ^G2347, but take ^G2293 courage ^G2293; I have overcome ^G3528 the world ^G2889.”
