The Destruction of Jericho

1 Now Jericho ^H3405 was tightly ^H5462 shut ^H5462 because ^H4480 H6440 of the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478; no ^H369 one ^H369 went ^H3318 out ^H3318, and no ^H369 one ^H369 came ^H935 in ^H935.

2 And Yahweh ^H3068 said ^H559 to Joshua ^H3091, “See ^H7200, I have given ^H5414 Jericho ^H3405 into your hand ^H3027, with its king ^H4428 and the valiant ^H2428 warriors ^H1368. 3 And you shall march ^H5437 around ^H5437 the city ^H5892, all ^H3605 the men ^H376 of war ^H4421 circling ^H5362 the city ^H5892 once ^H259 H6471. 22 Now to the two ^H8147 men ^H376 who had spied ^H7270 out ^H7270 the land ^H776, Joshua ^H3091 said ^H559, “Go ^H935 into the harlot’s ^H802 H2181 house ^H1004 and bring ^H3318 the woman ^H802 and all ^H3605 she has out ^H3318 of there ^H8033, as you have sworn ^H7650 to her.” 23 So the young ^H5288 men ^H5288 who were spies ^H7270 went ^H935 in ^H935 and brought ^H3318 out ^H7270 Rahab ^H7343 and her father ^H1 and her mother ^H517 and her brothers ^H251 and all ^H3605 she had; they also brought ^H3318 out ^H3318 all ^H3605 her relatives ^H4940 and placed ^H5117 them outside ^H4480 H2351 the camp ^H4264 of Israel ^H3478. 24 But they burned ^H8313 the city ^H5892 with fire ^H784, and all ^H3605 that was in it. Only ^H7534 the silver ^H3701 and gold ^H2091, and articles ^H3627 of bronze ^H5178 and iron ^H1270, they put ^H5414 into the treasury ^H214 of the [fn]house ^H1004 of Yahweh ^H3068. 25 However, Rahab ^H7343 the harlot ^H2181 and her father’s ^H1 household ^H1004 and all ^H3605 she had, Joshua ^H3091 preserved ^H2421 alive ^H2421; and she has lived ^H3427 in the midst ^H7130 of Israel ^H3478 to this ^H2088 day ^H3117, for she hid ^H2244 the messengers ^H4397 whom ^H834 Joshua ^H3091 sent ^H7971 to spy ^H7270 out ^H7270 Jericho ^H3405.

26 Then Joshua ^H3091 made them swear ^H7650 an oath at that time ^H6256, saying ^H559, “Cursed ^H779 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068 is the man ^H376 who ^H834 rises ^H6965 up ^H6965 and builds ^H1129 this ^H2088 city ^H5892 Jericho ^H3405; with the loss of his firstborn ^H1060 he shall lay ^H3245 its foundation ^H3245, and with the loss of his youngest ^H6810 son ^H6810 he shall set ^H5324 up its gates ^H1817.” 27 So Yahweh ^H3068 was with Joshua ^H3091, and the report ^H8089 about him was in all ^H3605 the land ^H776.
