1 ‘Now if ^H3588 a person ^H5315 sins ^H2398 after he hears ^H8085 a [fn]public ^H6963 oath ^H423 to testify when he is a witness ^H5707, whether ^H176 he has seen ^H7200 or ^H176 otherwise known ^H3045, if ^H518 he does not tell ^H5046 it, then he will bear ^H5375 his [fn]guilt ^H5771. 2 Or ^H176 a person ^H5315 who touches ^H5060 any ^H3605 unclean ^H2931 thing ^H1697, whether ^H176 a carcass ^H5038 of an unclean ^H2931 beast ^H2416 or ^H176 the carcass ^H5038 of unclean ^H2931 cattle ^H929 or ^H176 a carcass ^H5038 of unclean ^H2931 swarming ^H8318 things ^H8318—though it is hidden ^H5956 from him, yet he is unclean ^H2931—will be guilty ^H816. 3 Or ^H176 if ^H3588 he touches ^H5060 human ^H120 uncleanness ^H2932, of whatever ^H3605 sort his uncleanness ^H2932 may be with which ^H834 he becomes ^H2930 unclean ^H2930, and it is hidden ^H5956 from him, and then he comes to know ^H3045 it, he will be guilty ^H816. 4 Or ^H176 if ^H3588 a person ^H5315 swears ^H7650 thoughtlessly ^H981 with his lips ^H8193 to do ^H7489 evil ^H7489 or ^H176 to do ^H3190 good ^H3190, in whatever ^H3605 H834 matter a man ^H120 may speak ^H981 thoughtlessly ^H981 with a sworn oath ^H7621, and it is hidden ^H5956 from him, and then he comes to know ^H3045 it, he will be guilty ^H816 in one ^H259 of these ^H428. 5 So it shall be, when ^H3588 he becomes ^H816 guilty ^H816 in one ^H259 of these ^H428, that he shall confess ^H3034 that in which ^H834 he has sinned ^H2398. 6 He shall also bring ^H935 his guilt ^H817 offering ^H817 to Yahweh ^H3068 for his sin ^H2403 which ^H834 he has [fn]committed ^H2398, a female ^H5347 from the flock ^H6629, a lamb ^H3776 or ^H176 a [fn]goat ^H8166 H5795, as a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403. So the priest ^H3548 shall make ^H3722 atonement ^H3722 on ^H5921 his behalf ^H5921 for his sin ^H2403.

7 ‘But if ^H518 [fn]he cannot ^H3808 afford ^H5060 H3027 a lamb ^H7716, then he shall bring ^H935 to Yahweh ^H3068 his guilt ^H817 offering ^H817 for that in which ^H834 he has sinned ^H2398, two ^H8147 turtledoves ^H8449 or ^H176 two ^H8147 young ^H1121 pigeons ^H3123, one ^H259 for a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403 and the other ^H259 for a burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930. 8 And he shall bring ^H935 them to the priest ^H3548, who shall bring ^H7126 near ^H7126 first ^H7223 that which ^H834 is for the sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403 and shall nip ^H4454 its head ^H7218 at the front ^H4136 of its neck ^H6203, but he shall not separate ^H914 it. 9 He shall also sprinkle ^H5137 some ^H4480 of the blood ^H1818 of the sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403 on the side ^H7023 of the altar ^H4196, while the rest ^H7604 of the blood ^H1818 shall be drained ^H4680 out ^H4680 at the base ^H3247 of the altar ^H4196: it is a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403. 10 The second ^H8145 he shall then prepare ^H6213 as a burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930 according to the legal judgment ^H4941. So the priest ^H3548 shall make ^H3722 atonement ^H3722 on ^H5921 his behalf ^H5921 for his sin ^H2403 which ^H834 he has [fn]committed ^H2398, and it will be forgiven ^H5545 him.

11 ‘But if ^H518 his [fn]means ^H3027 are ^H5381 insufficient ^H3808 H5381 for two ^H8147 turtledoves ^H8449 or ^H176 two ^H8147 young ^H1121 pigeons ^H3123, then for his offering ^H7133 for that which ^H834 he has sinned ^H2398, he shall bring ^H935 the tenth ^H6224 of an [fn]ephah ^H374 of fine ^H5560 flour ^H5560 for a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403; he shall not place ^H7760 oil ^H8081 on it or put ^H5414 frankincense ^H3828 on it, for it is a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403. 12 He shall then bring ^H935 it to the priest ^H3548, and the priest ^H3548 shall take ^H7061 his handful ^H4393 H7062 of it as its memorial ^H234 portion ^H234 and offer ^H6999 it up ^H6999 in ^H6999 smoke ^H6999 on the altar ^H4196, [fn]with the offerings ^H801 of Yahweh ^H3068 by ^H801 fire ^H801: it is a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403. 13 So the priest ^H3548 shall make ^H3722 atonement ^H3722 for him concerning ^H5921 his sin ^H2403 which ^H834 he has [fn]committed ^H2398 from one ^H259 of these ^H428, and it will be forgiven ^H5545 him; then the rest shall become ^H1961 the priest’s ^H3548, like the grain offering ^H4503.’”

The Statutes of Guilt Offerings

14 Then Yahweh ^H3068 spoke ^H1696 to Moses ^H4872, saying ^H559,

15 “If ^H3588 a person ^H5315 acts ^H4603 unfaithfully ^H4603 H4604 and sins ^H2398 unintentionally ^H7684 against ^H4480 the holy ^H6944 things ^H6944 of Yahweh ^H3068, then he shall bring ^H935 his guilt ^H817 offering ^H817 to Yahweh ^H3068: a ram ^H352 without ^H8549 blemish ^H8549 from the flock ^H6629, according to your valuation ^H6187 in silver ^H3701 by [fn]shekels ^H8255, in terms of the shekel ^H8255 of the sanctuary ^H6944, for a guilt ^H817 offering ^H817. 16 And he shall make ^H7999 restitution ^H7999 for that which ^H834 he has sinned ^H2398 against ^H4480 the holy ^H6944 thing ^H6944, and he shall add ^H3254 to it a fifth ^H2549 part ^H2549 of it and give ^H5414 it to the priest ^H3548. The priest ^H3548 shall then make ^H3722 atonement ^H3722 for him with the ram ^H352 of the guilt ^H817 offering ^H817, and it will be forgiven ^H5545 him.

17 “Now if ^H518 a person ^H5315 sins ^H2398 and does ^H6213 any ^H259 one of the things [fn]which ^H834 Yahweh ^H3068 has commanded ^H4687 not to be done ^H6213, but he was ^H3045 unaware ^H3045 H3808, still he is guilty ^H816 and shall bear ^H5375 his punishment ^H5771. 18 He is then to bring ^H935 to the priest ^H3548 a ram ^H352 without ^H8549 blemish ^H8549 from the flock ^H6629, according to your valuation ^H6187, for a guilt ^H817 offering ^H817. So the priest ^H3548 shall make ^H3722 atonement ^H3722 for him concerning ^H5921 his error ^H7684 in which ^H834 he sinned ^H7683 unintentionally ^H7683 and did not know ^H3045 it, and it will be forgiven ^H5545 him. 19 It is a guilt ^H817 offering ^H817; he was certainly ^H816 guilty ^H816 before Yahweh ^H3068.”
