The Scroll and the Lamb

1 Then I saw ^G3708 [fn]in the right ^G1188 hand ^G1188 of Him who sits ^G2521 on the throne ^G2362 a scroll ^G975 written ^G1125 inside ^G2081 and on the back ^G3693, sealed ^G2696 up ^G2696 with seven ^G2033 seals ^G4973.

2 Then I saw ^G3708 a strong ^G2478 angel ^G32 proclaiming ^G2784 with a loud ^G3173 voice ^G5456, “Who ^G5101 is worthy ^G514 to open ^G455 the scroll ^G975 and to break ^G3089 its seals ^G4973?” 3 And no ^G3762 one ^G3762 in heaven ^G3772 or ^G3761 on the earth ^G1093 or ^G3761 under ^G5270 the earth ^G1093 was able ^G1410 to open ^G455 the scroll ^G975 or ^G3777 to look ^G991 into it. 4 Then ^G2532 I was crying ^G2799 greatly ^G4183 because ^G3754 no ^G3762 one ^G3762 was found ^G2147 worthy ^G514 to open ^G455 the scroll ^G975 or ^G3777 to look ^G991 into it. 5 And one ^G1520 of the elders ^G4245 *said ^G3004 to me, “Stop ^G3361 crying ^G2799! Behold ^G2400, the Lion ^G3023 that is from the tribe ^G5443 of Judah ^G2455, the Root ^G4491 of David ^G1138, has overcome ^G3528 so as to open ^G455 the scroll ^G975 and its seven ^G2033 seals ^G4973.”

6 Then I saw ^G3708 in ^G1722 the midst ^G3319 of the throne ^G2362 and the four ^G5064 living ^G2226 creatures ^G2226 and in ^G1722 the midst ^G3319 of the elders ^G4245 a Lamb ^G721 standing ^G2476, as if ^G5613 slain ^G4969, having ^G2192 seven ^G2033 horns ^G2768 and seven ^G2033 eyes ^G3788, which ^G3739 are the seven ^G2033 Spirits ^G4151 of God ^G2316, sent ^G649 out ^G649 into all ^G3956 the earth ^G1093. 7 And He came ^G2064 and took ^G2983 the scroll out of the right ^G1188 hand ^G1188 of Him who sits ^G2521 on the throne ^G2362. 8 And when ^G3753 He had taken ^G2983 the scroll ^G975, the four ^G5064 living ^G2226 creatures ^G2226 and the twenty-four ^G1501 G5064 elders ^G4245 fell ^G4098 down ^G4098 before ^G1799 the Lamb ^G721, each ^G1538 one ^G1538 having ^G2192 a harp ^G2788 and golden ^G5552 bowls ^G5357 full ^G1073 of incense ^G2368, which ^G3739 are the prayers ^G4335 of the [fn]saints ^G40. 9 And they *sang ^G103 a new ^G2537 song ^G5603, saying ^G3004,

“Worthy ^G514 are You to take ^G2983 the scroll ^G975 and to open ^G455 its seals ^G4973, because You were slain ^G4969 and purchased ^G59 for God ^G2316 with Your blood ^G129 people from every ^G3956 tribe ^G5443 and tongue ^G1100 and people ^G2992 and nation ^G1484.

10 And You made ^G4160 them to be a kingdom ^G932 and priests ^G2409 to our God ^G2316, and they will reign ^G936 upon the earth ^G1093.”

Angels Worship the Lamb

11 Then ^G2532 I looked ^G3708, and I heard ^G191 the voice ^G5456 of many ^G4183 angels ^G32 around ^G2945 the throne ^G2362 and the living ^G2226 creatures ^G2226 and the elders ^G4245; and the number ^G706 of them was myriads ^G3461 of myriads ^G3461, and thousands ^G5505 of thousands ^G5505,

12 saying ^G3004 with a loud ^G3173 voice ^G5456,

“Worthy ^G514 is the Lamb ^G721 that was slain ^G4969 to receive ^G2983 power ^G1411 and riches ^G4149 and wisdom ^G4678 and strength ^G2479 and honor ^G5092 and glory ^G1391 and blessing ^G2129.”

13 And every ^G3956 created ^G2938 thing ^G2938 which ^G3739 is in heaven ^G3772 and on the earth ^G1093 and under ^G5270 the earth ^G1093 and on the sea ^G2281, and all ^G3956 things ^G3956 in them, I heard ^G191 saying ^G3004,

“To Him who sits ^G2521 on the throne ^G2362, and to the Lamb ^G721, be the blessing ^G2129 and the honor ^G5092 and the glory ^G1391 and the might ^G2904 forever ^G165 and ever ^G165.”

14 And the four ^G5064 living ^G2226 creatures ^G2226 kept saying ^G3004, “Amen ^G281.” And the elders ^G4245 fell ^G4098 down ^G4098 and worshiped ^G4352.
