Woe to Those at Ease in Zion

1 Woe ^H1945 to those who are ^H7600 at ^H7600 ease ^H7600 in Zion ^H6726

And to those who feel secure ^H982 in the mountain ^H2022 of Samaria ^H8111,

The distinguished ^H5344 men of the first ^H7225 of the nations ^H1471,

To whom ^H1992 the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478 comes ^H935.

2 Pass ^H5674 on over ^H5674 to Calneh ^H3641 and look ^H7200,

And go ^H1980 from there ^H8033 to Hamath ^H2574 the great ^H7227,

Then go ^H3381 down ^H3381 to Gath ^H1661 of the Philistines ^H6430.

Are [fn]they better ^H2896 than ^H4480 these ^H428 kingdoms ^H4467,

Or ^H518 are their borders ^H1366 greater ^H7227 than ^H4480 your borders ^H1366?

3 Do you put ^H5077 off ^H5077 the day ^H3117 of calamity ^H7451,

And would you cause ^H5066 the seat ^H7675 of violence ^H2555 to approach ^H5066?

4 Those who lay ^H7901 down on beds ^H4296 of ivory ^H8127

And sprawl ^H5628 on their couches ^H6210

And eat ^H398 lambs ^H3733 from the flock ^H6629

And calves ^H5695 from the midst ^H8432 of the stall ^H4770,

5 Who improvise ^H6527 to the [fn]sound ^H6310 of the harp ^H5035,

6 Who drink ^H8354 wine ^H3196 from [fn]sacrificial bowls ^H4219

Yet they have not grieved ^H2470 over ^H5921 the destruction ^H7667 of Joseph ^H3130.

12 Do horses ^H5483 run ^H7323 on rocks ^H5553?

Or ^H518 does one plow ^H2790 [fn]them with oxen ^H1241?

Yet ^H3588 you have overturned ^H2015 justice ^H4941 into gall ^H7219

And the fruit ^H6529 of righteousness ^H6666 into [fn]wormwood ^H3939,

13 You who are glad ^H8056 in [fn]Lo-debar ^H3810

[fn]And say ^H559, “Have we not by our own strength ^H2392 taken ^H3947 [fn]Karnaim ^H7161 for ourselves?”

14 “For behold ^H2009, I am going to raise ^H6965 up ^H6965 a nation ^H1471 against ^H5921 you,

O house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478,” declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068 God ^H430 of hosts ^H6635,

“And they will press ^H3905 down ^H3905 on you from [fn]Lebo-hamath ^H2574

To the brook ^H5158 of the Arabah ^H6160.”
