Setting Apart the Priests

1 “Now this ^H2088 is [fn]what ^H1697 H834 you shall do ^H6213 to them to set ^H6942 them apart ^H6942 as ^H6942 holy ^H6942 to minister ^H3547 as ^H3547 priests ^H3547 to Me: take ^H3947 one ^H259 bull ^H6499 from the herd ^H1121 H1241 and two ^H8147 rams ^H352 without ^H8549 blemish ^H8549,

2 and unleavened ^H4682 bread ^H3899 and unleavened ^H4682 cakes ^H2471 mixed ^H1101 with oil ^H8081, and unleavened ^H4682 wafers ^H7550 [fn]spread ^H4886 with oil ^H8081; you shall make ^H6213 them of fine ^H5560 wheat ^H2406 flour ^H5560. 3 And you shall put ^H5414 them in one ^H259 basket ^H5536 and bring ^H7126 them near ^H7126 in the basket ^H5536 along with the bull ^H6499 and the two ^H8147 rams ^H352. 4 Then you shall bring ^H7126 Aaron ^H175 and his sons ^H1121 near to the doorway ^H6607 of the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150 and wash ^H7364 them with water ^H4325. 5 And you shall take ^H3947 the garments ^H899, and put ^H3847 on ^H3847 Aaron ^H175 the tunic ^H3801 and the robe ^H4598 of the ephod ^H646 and the ephod ^H646 and the [fn]breastpiece ^H2833, and gird ^H640 him with the skillfully ^H2805 woven ^H2805 band ^H2805 of the ephod ^H646; 6 and you shall set ^H7760 the turban ^H4701 on his head ^H7218 and put ^H5414 the holy ^H6944 crown ^H5145 on the turban ^H4701. 7 Then you shall take ^H3947 the anointing ^H4888 oil ^H8081 and pour ^H3332 it on his head ^H7218 and anoint ^H4886 him. 8 And you shall bring ^H7126 his sons ^H1121 near ^H7126 and put ^H3847 tunics ^H3801 on ^H3847 them. 9 You shall gird ^H2296 them with sashes ^H73, Aaron ^H175 and his sons ^H1121, and bind ^H2280 [fn]caps ^H4021 on them, and they shall have ^H1961 the priesthood ^H3550 by a perpetual ^H5769 statute ^H2708. So you shall [fn]ordain ^H4390 H3027 Aaron ^H175 and his sons ^H1121.

Slaughtering the Offerings

10 “Then you shall bring ^H7126 the bull ^H6499 near before ^H6440 the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150, and Aaron ^H175 and his sons ^H1121 shall lay ^H5564 their hands ^H3027 on the head ^H7218 of the bull ^H6499.

11 You shall slaughter ^H7819 the bull ^H6499 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068 at the doorway ^H6607 of the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150. 12 You shall take ^H3947 some ^H4480 of the blood ^H1818 of the bull ^H6499 and put ^H5414 it on the horns ^H7161 of the altar ^H4196 with your finger ^H676; and you shall pour ^H8210 out ^H8210 all ^H3605 the blood ^H1818 at the base ^H3247 of the altar ^H4196. 13 You shall take ^H3947 all ^H3605 the fat ^H2459 that covers ^H3680 the entrails ^H7130 and the [fn]lobe ^H3508 of the liver ^H3516 and the two ^H8147 kidneys ^H3629 and the fat ^H2459 that is on them, and you shall offer ^H6999 them up ^H6999 in ^H6999 smoke ^H6999 on the altar ^H4196. 14 But the flesh ^H1320 of the bull ^H6499 and its hide ^H5785 and its refuse ^H6569, you shall burn ^H8313 with fire ^H784 outside ^H4480 H2351 the camp ^H4264; it is a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403.

15 “You shall also take ^H3947 the one ^H259 ram ^H352, and Aaron ^H175 and his sons ^H1121 shall lay ^H5564 their hands ^H3027 on the head ^H7218 of the ram ^H352; 16 and you shall slaughter ^H7819 the ram ^H352, and you shall take ^H3947 its blood ^H1818 and splash ^H2236 it around ^H5439 on the altar ^H4196. 17 Then you shall cut ^H5408 the ram ^H352 into its pieces ^H5409, and wash ^H7364 its entrails ^H7130 and its legs ^H3767, and put ^H5414 them [fn]with its pieces ^H5409 and [fn]its head ^H7218. 18 You shall offer ^H6999 up ^H6999 in ^H6999 smoke ^H6999 the whole ^H3605 ram ^H352 on the altar ^H4196; it is a burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930 to Yahweh ^H3068: it is a soothing ^H5207 aroma ^H7381, an offering ^H801 by ^H801 fire ^H801 to Yahweh ^H3068.

19 “Then you shall take ^H3947 the second ^H8145 ram ^H352, and Aaron ^H175 and his sons ^H1121 shall lay ^H5564 their hands ^H3027 on the head ^H7218 of the ram ^H352. 20 You shall slaughter ^H7819 the ram ^H352, and take ^H3947 some ^H4480 of its blood ^H1818 and put ^H5414 it on the lobe ^H8571 of Aaron’s ^H175 right ear ^H241 and on the lobes ^H8571 of his sons’ ^H1121 right ^H3233 ears ^H241 and on the thumbs ^H931 of their right ^H3233 hands ^H3027 and on the big ^H931 toes ^H931 of their right ^H3233 feet ^H7272, and splash ^H2236 the rest of the blood ^H1818 around ^H5439 on the altar ^H4196. 21 Then you shall take ^H3947 some ^H4480 of the blood ^H1818 that is on the altar ^H4196 and some ^H4480 of the anointing ^H4888 oil ^H8081, and sprinkle ^H5137 it on Aaron ^H175 and on his garments ^H899 and on his sons ^H1121 and on his sons’ ^H1121 garments ^H899 with him; so he and his garments ^H899 shall be set ^H6942 apart ^H6942 as ^H6942 holy ^H6942, as well as his sons ^H1121 and his sons’ ^H1121 garments ^H899 with him.

22 “You shall also take ^H3947 the fat ^H2459 from the ram ^H352 and the fat ^H451 tail ^H451 and the fat ^H2459 that covers ^H3680 the entrails ^H7130 and the [fn]lobe ^H3508 of the liver ^H3516 and the two ^H8147 kidneys ^H3629 and the fat ^H2459 that is on them and the right ^H3225 thigh ^H7785 (for it is a ram ^H352 of [fn]ordination ^H4394), 23 and one ^H259 cake ^H3603 of bread ^H3899 and one ^H259 cake ^H2471 of bread ^H3899 mixed with oil ^H8081 and one ^H259 wafer ^H7550 from the basket ^H5536 of unleavened ^H4682 bread ^H4682 which ^H834 is set before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068; 24 and you shall put ^H7760 [fn]all ^H3605 these ^H3605 [fn]in the [fn]hands ^H3709 of Aaron ^H175 and [fn]in the [fn]hands ^H3709 of his sons ^H1121, and you shall wave ^H5130 them as a wave ^H8573 offering ^H8573 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068. 25 You shall take ^H3947 them from their hands ^H3027 and offer ^H6999 them up ^H6999 in ^H6999 smoke ^H6999 on the altar ^H4196 on the burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930 for a soothing ^H5207 aroma ^H7381 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068; it is an offering ^H801 by ^H801 fire ^H801 to Yahweh ^H3068.

26 “Then you shall take ^H3947 the breast ^H2373 of Aaron’s ^H175 ram ^H352 of [fn]ordination ^H4394 and wave ^H5130 it as a wave ^H8573 offering ^H8573 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068; and it shall be your portion ^H4490. 27 You shall set ^H6942 apart ^H6942 as ^H6942 holy ^H6942 the breast ^H2373 of the wave ^H8573 offering ^H8573 and the thigh ^H7785 of the [fn]contribution ^H8641 offering ^H8641 which ^H834 was waved ^H5130 and which ^H834 was [fn]raised ^H7311 up ^H7311 as a contribution from the ram ^H352 of [fn]ordination ^H4394, from the one which ^H834 was for Aaron ^H175 and from the one which ^H834 was for his sons ^H1121. 28 It shall be for Aaron ^H175 and his sons ^H1121 as a perpetual ^H5769 statute ^H2706 from the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478, for it is a [fn]contribution ^H8641 offering ^H8641; and it shall be a [fn]contribution ^H8641 offering ^H8641 from the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 from the sacrifices ^H2077 of their peace ^H8002 offerings ^H8002, even their [fn]contribution ^H8641 offering ^H8641 to Yahweh ^H3068.

29 “The holy ^H6944 garments ^H899 of Aaron ^H175 shall be for his sons ^H1121 after ^H310 him, [fn]that in them they may be anointed ^H4886 and ordained ^H4390 H3027. 30 For seven ^H7651 days ^H3117 the one of his sons ^H1121 who is priest ^H3548 in ^H8478 his stead ^H8478 shall put ^H3847 them on ^H3847 when ^H834 he comes ^H935 into the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150 to minister ^H8334 in the holy ^H6944 place.

Yahweh Will Meet and Speak to Israel

31 “You shall take ^H3947 the ram ^H352 of [fn]ordination ^H4394 and boil ^H1310 its flesh ^H1320 in a holy ^H6918 place ^H4725.

32 Aaron ^H175 and his sons ^H1121 shall eat ^H398 the flesh ^H1320 of the ram ^H352 and the bread ^H3899 that is in the basket ^H5536, at the doorway ^H6607 of the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150. 33 Thus they shall eat ^H398 [fn]those things by which ^H834 atonement ^H3722 was made ^H3722 [fn]to ordain ^H4390 H3027 them, [fn]to set ^H6942 them apart ^H6942 as ^H6942 holy ^H6942; but a [fn]layman ^H2114 shall not eat ^H398 them, because ^H3588 they are holy ^H6944. 34 If ^H518 any ^H4480 of the flesh ^H1320 of [fn]ordination ^H4394 or any ^H4480 of the bread ^H3899 remains ^H3498 until ^H5704 morning ^H1242, then you shall burn ^H8313 the remainder ^H3498 with fire ^H784; it shall not be eaten ^H398, because ^H3588 it is holy ^H6944.

35 “Thus ^H3602 you shall do ^H6213 to Aaron ^H175 and to his sons ^H1121, according to all ^H3605 that I have commanded ^H6680 you; you shall [fn]ordain ^H4390 H3027 them through seven ^H7651 days ^H3117. 36 Each day ^H3117 you shall offer ^H6213 a bull ^H6499 as a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403 for atonement ^H3725, and you shall [fn]purify ^H2398 the altar ^H4196 when you make ^H3722 atonement ^H3722 [fn]for it, and you shall anoint ^H4886 it to set ^H6942 it apart ^H6942 as ^H6942 holy ^H6942. 37 For seven ^H7651 days ^H3117 you shall make ^H3722 atonement ^H3722 [fn]for the altar ^H4196 and set ^H6942 it apart ^H6942 as ^H6942 holy ^H6942; then the altar ^H4196 shall be most ^H6944 holy ^H6944, and whatever ^H3605 touches ^H5060 the altar ^H4196 shall be ^H6942 holy ^H6942.

38 “Now this ^H2088 is what ^H834 you shall offer ^H6213 on the altar ^H4196: two ^H8147 one year ^H8141 old ^H1121 lambs ^H3532 each day ^H3117, continuously ^H8548. 39 The one ^H259 lamb ^H3532 you shall offer ^H6213 in the morning ^H1242, and the second ^H8145 lamb ^H3532 you shall offer ^H6213 [fn]at twilight ^H6153; 40 and there shall be [fn]one-tenth ^H6241 of an ephah of fine ^H5560 flour ^H5560 mixed ^H1101 with one-fourth ^H7253 of a [fn]hin ^H1969 of beaten ^H3795 oil ^H8081, and one-fourth ^H7243 of a hin ^H1969 of wine ^H3196 for a drink ^H5262 offering ^H5262 with the one ^H259 lamb ^H3532. 41 The second ^H8145 lamb ^H3532 you shall offer ^H6213 [fn]at twilight ^H6153, and you shall offer ^H6213 with it [fn]the same grain offering ^H4503 and [fn]the same drink ^H5262 offering ^H5262 as in the morning ^H1242, for a soothing ^H5207 aroma ^H7381, an offering ^H801 by ^H801 fire ^H801 to Yahweh ^H3068. 42 It shall be a continual ^H8548 burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930 throughout your generations ^H1755 at the doorway ^H6607 of the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150 before ^H6440 Yahweh ^H3068, where ^H834 H8033 I will meet ^H3259 with you, to speak ^H1696 to you there ^H8033. 43 I will meet ^H3259 there ^H8033 with the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478, and it shall be set ^H6942 apart ^H6942 as ^H6942 holy ^H6942 by My glory ^H3519. 44 I will set ^H6942 the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150 and the altar ^H4196 apart ^H6942 as ^H6942 holy ^H6942; I will also set ^H6942 Aaron ^H175 and his sons ^H1121 apart ^H6942 as ^H6942 holy ^H6942 to minister ^H3547 as ^H3547 priests ^H3547 to Me. 45 I will dwell ^H7931 among ^H8432 the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 and will be their God ^H430. 46 They shall know ^H3045 that I am Yahweh ^H3068 their God ^H430 who ^H834 brought ^H3318 them out ^H3318 of the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714, that I might dwell ^H7931 among ^H8432 them; I am Yahweh ^H3068 their God ^H430.
