The Sending of Ezekiel
1 Then He said H559 to me, “Son H1121 of man H120, stand H5975 on your feet H7272 that I may speak H1696 with you!”
2 And as He spoke H1696 to me, the Spirit H7307 entered H935 me and caused me to stand H5975 on my feet H7272; and I heard H8085 Him speaking H1696 to me. 3 Then He said H559 to me, “Son H1121 of man H120, I am sending H7971 you to the sons H1121 of Israel H3478, to a rebellious H4775 people H1471 who H834 have rebelled H4775 against Me; they and their fathers H1 have transgressed H6586 against Me to this H2088 very H6106 day H3117. 4 I am sending H7971 you to them who are [fn]stiff-[fn]faced H7186 H6440 and strong-hearted H2389 H3820 children H1121, and you shall say H559 to them, ‘Thus H3541 says H559 Lord H136 Yahweh H3068.’ 5 As for them, whether H518 they listen H8085 or whether H518 they refuse H2308—for they are a rebellious H4805 house H1004—they will know H3045 that a prophet H5030 has been H1961 among H8432 them. 6 Now as for you, son H1121 of man H120, do not H408 fear H3372 them and do not H408 fear H3372 their words H1697, though H3588 thistles H5621 and briers H5544 are with you and you sit H3427 on scorpions H6137; neither H408 fear H3372 their words H1697 nor H408 be dismayed H2865 at their presence H6440, for they are a rebellious H4805 house H1004. 7 But you shall speak H1696 My words H1697 to them whether H518 they listen H8085 or whether H518 they refuse H2308, for they are rebellious H4805.
8 “Now as for you, son H1121 of man H120, listen H8085 to what H834 I am speaking H1696 to you; do not be rebellious H4805 like that rebellious H4805 house H1004. Open H6475 your mouth H6310 and eat H398 what H834 I am giving H5414 you.” 9 Then I looked H7200, and behold H2009, a hand H3027 was sent H7971 forth to me; and behold H2009, a [fn]scroll H4039 H5612 was in it. 10 Then He spread H6566 it out H6566 before H6440 me, and it was written H3789 on the front H6440 and back H268, and written H3789 on it were lamentations H7015, sighing H1899, and woe H1958.
