Yahweh Will Judge the Nations

1 “[fn]For behold ^H2009, in those ^H1992 days ^H3117 and at that time ^H6256,

When ^H834 I restore ^H7725 the fortunes ^H7622 of Judah ^H3063 and Jerusalem ^H3389,

2 I will gather ^H6908 all ^H3605 the nations ^H1471

And bring ^H3381 them down ^H3381 to the valley ^H6010 of [fn]Jehoshaphat ^H3092.

Then I will enter ^H8199 into ^H8199 judgment ^H8199 with them there ^H8033

On ^H5921 behalf ^H5921 of ^H5921 My people ^H5971 and My inheritance ^H5159, Israel ^H3478,

Whom ^H834 they have scattered ^H6340 among the nations ^H1471;

And they have divided ^H2505 up ^H2505 My land ^H776.

3 “They have also cast ^H3032 lots ^H1486 for My people ^H5971,

[fn]Traded ^H5414 a boy ^H3206 for a harlot ^H2181,

And sold ^H4376 a girl ^H3207 for wine ^H3196 that they may drink ^H8354.

4 Moreover ^H1571, what ^H4100 are you to Me, O Tyre ^H6865, Sidon ^H6721, and all ^H3605 the regions ^H1552 of Philistia ^H6429? Are you rendering ^H7999 Me a recompense ^H1576? But if ^H518 you do recompense ^H1580 Me, swiftly ^H7031 and speedily ^H4120 I will return ^H7725 your recompense ^H1576 on your head ^H7218.

5 Since ^H834 you have taken ^H3947 My silver ^H3701 and My gold ^H2091, brought ^H935 My desirable ^H4261 [fn]treasures ^H4261 to your temples ^H1964, 6 and sold ^H4376 the sons ^H1121 of Judah ^H3063 and the sons ^H1121 of Jerusalem ^H3389 to the sons of the [fn]Greeks ^H3125 in order ^H4616 to remove ^H7368 them far ^H7368 from their borders ^H1366, 7 behold ^H2009, I am going to rouse ^H5782 them from the place ^H4725 where ^H834 H8033 you have sold ^H4376 them and return ^H7725 your recompense ^H1576 on your head ^H7218. 8 Also I will sell ^H4376 your sons ^H1121 and your daughters ^H1323 into the hand ^H3027 of the sons ^H1121 of Judah ^H3063, and they will sell ^H4376 them to the Sabeans ^H7615, to a distant ^H7350 nation ^H1471,” for Yahweh ^H3068 has spoken ^H1696.

9 Call ^H7121 out ^H7121 this ^H2088 message among the nations ^H1471:

Set ^H6942 yourselves apart ^H6942 for a war ^H4421; rouse ^H5782 the mighty ^H1368 men ^H1368!

Let all ^H3605 the men ^H582 of war ^H4421 approach ^H5066, let them come ^H5927 up ^H5927!

10 Beat ^H3807 your plowshares ^H855 into swords ^H2719

And your pruning ^H4211 hooks ^H4211 into spears ^H7420;

Let the weak ^H2523 say ^H559, “I am a mighty ^H1368 man ^H1368.”

11 [fn]Hasten ^H5789 and come ^H935, all ^H3605 you surrounding ^H5439 nations ^H1471,

And gather ^H6908 yourselves.

There ^H8033, bring ^H5181 down ^H5181, O Yahweh ^H3068, Your mighty ^H1368 ones ^H1368.

12 Let the nations ^H1471 be roused ^H5782 up ^H5782

And come ^H5927 up ^H5927 to the valley ^H6010 of [fn]Jehoshaphat ^H3092,

For there ^H8033 I will sit ^H3427 to judge ^H8199

All ^H3605 the surrounding ^H5439 nations ^H1471.

13 Send ^H7971 in the sickle ^H4038, for the harvest ^H7105 is ^H1310 ripe ^H1310.

Come ^H935, [fn]tread ^H7287, for the wine ^H1660 press ^H1660 is full ^H4390;

The vats ^H3342 overflow ^H7783, for their evil ^H7451 is great ^H7227.

14 Multitudes ^H1995, multitudes ^H1995 in the valley ^H6010 of [fn]decision ^H2742!

For the day ^H3117 of Yahweh ^H3068 is near ^H7138 in the valley ^H6010 of [fn]decision ^H2742.

15 The sun ^H8121 and moon ^H3394 grow ^H6937 dark ^H6937,

And the stars ^H3556 lose ^H622 their brightness ^H5051.

16 And Yahweh ^H3068 roars ^H7580 from Zion ^H6726

And gives ^H5414 forth His voice ^H6963 from Jerusalem ^H3389,

And the heavens ^H8064 and the earth ^H776 quake ^H7493.

But Yahweh ^H3068 is a refuge ^H4268 for His people ^H5971

And a strong ^H4581 defense ^H4581 to the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478.

17 Then you will know ^H3045 that I am Yahweh ^H3068 your God ^H430,

Dwelling ^H7931 in Zion ^H6726, My holy ^H6944 mountain ^H2022.

So Jerusalem ^H3389 will be holy ^H6944,

And strangers ^H2114 will pass ^H5674 through it no ^H3808 more ^H5750.

Yahweh Dwells in Zion

18 And it will be in that day ^H3117,

That the mountains ^H2022 will drip ^H5197 with [fn]sweet ^H6071 wine ^H6071,

And the hills ^H1389 will flow ^H1980 with milk ^H2461,

And all ^H3605 the brooks ^H650 of Judah ^H3063 will flow ^H1980 with water ^H4325;

And a spring ^H4599 will go ^H3318 out ^H3318 from the house ^H1004 of Yahweh ^H3068

To water ^H8248 the valley ^H5158 of [fn]Shittim ^H7851.

19 Egypt ^H4714 will become ^H1961 a desolation ^H8077,

And Edom ^H123 will become ^H1961 a desolate ^H8077 wilderness ^H4057,

Because ^H4480 of the violence ^H2555 [fn]done to the sons ^H1121 of Judah ^H3063,

In whose ^H834 land ^H776 they have shed ^H8210 innocent ^H5355 blood ^H1818.

20 But Judah ^H3063 will be inhabited ^H3427 forever ^H5769

And Jerusalem ^H3389 from generation ^H1755 to ^H1755 generation ^H1755.

21 And I will avenge ^H5358 their blood ^H1818 which I have not avenged ^H5358,

Indeed, Yahweh ^H3068 dwells ^H7931 in Zion ^H6726.
