The Law Will Go Forth from Zion

1 Now it will be ^H1961 that in the last ^H319 days ^H3117

The mountain ^H2022 of the house ^H1004 of Yahweh ^H3068

Will be established ^H3559 [fn]as the head ^H7218 of the mountains ^H2022,

And will be lifted ^H5375 up ^H5375 above ^H4480 the hills ^H1389,

And the peoples ^H5971 will stream ^H5102 to it.

2 And many ^H7227 nations ^H1471 will come ^H1980 and say ^H559,

“Come ^H1980 and let us go ^H5927 up ^H5927 to the mountain ^H2022 of Yahweh ^H3068

And to the house ^H1004 of the God ^H430 of Jacob ^H3290,

That He may instruct ^H3384 us from ^H4480 His ways ^H1870

And that we may walk ^H1980 in His paths ^H734.”

For from Zion ^H6726 will go ^H3318 forth ^H3318 the law ^H8451,

And the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 from Jerusalem ^H3389.

3 And He will judge ^H8199 between ^H996 many ^H7227 peoples ^H5971

And will render ^H3198 decisions ^H3198 for mighty ^H6099, [fn]distant ^H7350 nations ^H1471.

And they will hammer ^H3807 their swords ^H2719 into plowshares ^H855

And their spears ^H2595 into pruning ^H4211 hooks ^H4211;

Nation ^H1471 will not lift ^H5375 up ^H5375 sword ^H2719 against ^H413 nation ^H1471,

4 And each ^H376 of them will sit ^H3427 under ^H8478 his vine ^H1612

And under ^H8478 his fig ^H8384 tree ^H8384,

With no ^H369 one ^H369 to make ^H2729 them tremble ^H2729,

For the mouth ^H6310 of Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635 has spoken ^H1696.

5 Though ^H3588 all ^H3605 the peoples ^H5971 walk ^H1980

Each ^H376 in the name ^H8034 of his god ^H430,

As for us, we will walk ^H1980

In the name ^H8034 of Yahweh ^H3068 our God ^H430 forever ^H5769 and ever ^H5703.

6 “In that day ^H3117,” declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068,

“I will assemble ^H622 the lame ^H6760

And gather ^H6908 the banished ^H5080,

Even those upon whom ^H834 I have brought calamity ^H7489.

7 “I will make ^H7760 the lame ^H6760 a remnant ^H7611

8 “And as for you, [fn]tower ^H4026 of the flock ^H5739,

[fn]Hill ^H6076 of the daughter ^H1323 of Zion ^H6726,

To you it will come ^H857—

Even the former ^H7223 dominion ^H4475 will come ^H935,

The kingdom ^H4467 of the daughter ^H1323 of Jerusalem ^H3389.

9 “Now ^H6258, why ^H4100 do you make ^H7321 a ^H7321 loud ^H7321 shout ^H7452?

Is ^H369 there ^H369 no ^H369 king ^H4428 among you,

Or ^H518 has your counselor ^H3289 perished ^H6,

That writhing ^H2427 has taken ^H2388 hold ^H2388 of you like a woman in ^H3205 childbirth ^H3205?

10 “Writhe ^H2342 and labor ^H1518 to give ^H1518 birth ^H1518,

Daughter ^H1323 of Zion ^H6726,

Like a woman in ^H3205 childbirth ^H3205;

For now ^H6258 you will go ^H3318 out ^H3318 of the city ^H7151,

Dwell ^H7931 in the field ^H7704,

And go ^H935 to Babylon ^H894.

There ^H8033 you will be delivered ^H5337;

There ^H8033 Yahweh ^H3068 will redeem ^H1350 you

From the hand ^H3709 of your enemies ^H340.

11 “But now ^H6258 many ^H7227 nations ^H1471 have been assembled ^H622 against ^H5921 you

Who say ^H559, ‘Let her be polluted ^H2610,

And let our eyes ^H5869 behold ^H2372 Zion ^H6726 in triumph.’

12 “But they do not know ^H3045 the thoughts ^H4284 of Yahweh ^H3068,

And they do not understand ^H995 His counsel ^H6098;

For He has gathered ^H6908 them like sheaves ^H5995 to the threshing ^H1637 floor ^H1637.

13 “Arise ^H6965 and thresh ^H1758, daughter ^H1323 of Zion ^H6726,

For your horn ^H7161 I will make ^H7760 iron ^H1270,

And your hoofs ^H6541 I will make ^H7760 bronze ^H5154,

That you may pulverize ^H1854 many ^H7227 peoples ^H5971,

That you may devote ^H2763 to Yahweh ^H3068 their greedy ^H1215 gain ^H1215 unto destruction ^H2763

And their wealth ^H2428 to the Lord ^H136 of all ^H3605 the earth ^H776.
