How Long, O Yahweh?
A Psalm of Asaph.
1 O God H430, the nations H1471 have come H935 into Your inheritance H5159;
They have defiled H2930 Your holy H6944 temple H1964;
They have laid H7760 Jerusalem H3389 in ruins H5856.
2 They have given H5414 the dead H5038 bodies H5038 of Your slaves H5650 for food H3978 to the birds H5775 of the heavens H8064,
The flesh H1320 of Your holy H2623 ones H2623 to the beasts H2416 of the earth H776.
3 They have poured H8210 out H8210 their blood H1818 like water H4325 round H5439 about H5439 Jerusalem H3389;
And there H369 was H369 no H369 one H369 to bury H6912 them.
4 We have H1961 become H1961 a reproach H2781 to our neighbors H7934,
A mockery H3933 and derision H7047 to those around H5439 us.
5 How H4100 long H5704, O Yahweh H3068? Will You be angry H599 forever H5331?
Will Your jealousy H7068 burn H1197 like H3644 fire H784?
6 Pour H8210 out H8210 Your wrath H2534 upon the nations H1471 which H834 do not know H3045 You,
And upon the kingdoms H4467 which H834 do not call H7121 upon Your name H8034.

Vengeance H5360 for the blood H1818 of Your slaves H5650 which has been poured H8210 out H8210.
11 Let the groaning H603 of the prisoner H615 come H935 before H6440 You;
According to the greatness H1433 of Your [fn]power H2220 preserve H3498 [fn]those H1121 who are doomed H1121 to die H8546.
12 And return H7725 to our neighbors H7934 sevenfold H7659 into their bosom H2436
[fn]The reproach H2781 with which H834 they have reproached H2778 You, O Lord H136.
13 But as for us, as Your people H5971 and the sheep H6629 of Your pasture H4830,
We will give H3034 thanks H3034 to You forever H5769;
