Their Ministry Commended

1 And working ^G4903 together ^G4903 with Him, we also ^G2532 urge ^G3870 you not to receive ^G1209 the grace ^G5485 of God ^G2316 in vain ^G2756—

2 for He says ^G3004,

“AT A FAVORABLE ^G1184 TIME ^G2540 I LISTENED ^G1873 TO ^G1873 YOU,

AND ON A DAY ^G2250 OF SALVATION ^G4991 I HELPED ^G997 YOU.”

Behold ^G2400, now ^G3568 is “A FAVORABLE ^G2144 TIME ^G2540,” behold ^G2400, now ^G3568 is “A DAY ^G2250 OF SALVATION ^G4991”— 3 giving ^G1325 no ^G3367 reason ^G4349 for ^G4349 taking offense ^G4349 in anything ^G3367, so ^G2443 that ^G2443 the ministry ^G1248 will not be discredited ^G3469, 4 but in everything ^G3956 commending ^G4921 ourselves ^G1438 as [fn]servants ^G1249 of God ^G2316, in much ^G4183 endurance ^G5281, in afflictions ^G2347, in hardships ^G318, in difficulties ^G4730, 5 in beatings ^G4127, in imprisonments ^G5438, in [fn]mob ^G181 attacks ^G181, in labors ^G2873, in sleeplessness ^G70, in hunger ^G3521, 6 in purity ^G54, in knowledge ^G1108, in patience ^G3115, in kindness ^G5544, in the Holy ^G40 Spirit ^G4151, in genuine ^G505 love ^G26, 7 in the word ^G3056 of truth ^G225, and in the power ^G1411 of God ^G2316; by the weapons ^G3696 of righteousness ^G1343 for the right ^G1188 hand ^G1188 and the left ^G710, 8 by glory ^G1391 and dishonor ^G819, by evil ^G1426 report ^G1426 and good ^G2162 report ^G2162; regarded as deceivers ^G4108 and yet true ^G227; 9 as unknown ^G50 and yet well ^G1921 known ^G1921, as dying ^G599 and yet behold ^G2400, we are ^G2198 alive ^G2198; as [fn]punished ^G3811 and yet not put ^G2289 to ^G2289 death ^G2289, 10 as sorrowful ^G3076 yet ^G1161 always ^G104 rejoicing ^G5463, as poor ^G4434 yet ^G1161 making ^G4148 many ^G4183 rich ^G4148, as having ^G2192 nothing ^G3367 and yet possessing ^G2722 all ^G3956 things ^G3956.

11 Our mouth ^G4750 [fn]has spoken ^G455 freely ^G455 to you, you Corinthians ^G2881, our heart ^G2588 is opened ^G4115 wide ^G4115. 12 You are not restrained ^G4729 [fn]by us, but you are restrained ^G4729 in your own [fn]affections ^G4698. 13 Now ^G1161 in the same ^G846 way ^G846 in exchange ^G489—I am speaking ^G3004 as to children ^G5043—open ^G4115 wide ^G4115 your hearts to us, you as ^G2532 well ^G2532.

14 Do not be [fn]mismatched ^G2086 with unbelievers ^G571; for what ^G5101 do righteousness ^G1343 and lawlessness ^G458 share ^G3352 together ^G3352, or ^G2228 what ^G5101 does light ^G5457 have in common ^G2842 with darkness ^G4655? 15 Or ^G1161 what ^G5101 harmony ^G4857 does Christ ^G5547 have with [fn]Belial ^G955, or ^G2228 [fn]what ^G5101 does a believer ^G4103 share ^G3310 with an unbeliever ^G571? 16 Or ^G1161 what ^G5101 agreement ^G4783 does [fn]the temple ^G3485 of God ^G2316 have with idols ^G1497? For we are [fn]the temple ^G3485 of the living ^G2198 God ^G2316; just ^G2531 as ^G2531 God ^G2316 said ^G3004,

“I WILL DWELL ^G1774 AMONG THEM AND WALK ^G1704 AMONG ^G1704 THEM;

AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD ^G2316, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE ^G2992.

17 “Therefore ^G1352, COME ^G1831 OUT FROM THEIR MIDST ^G3319 AND BE SEPARATE ^G873,” says ^G3004 the Lord ^G2962.

“AND DO NOT TOUCH ^G681 WHAT IS UNCLEAN ^G169;

And I will welcome ^G1523 you.

18 “And I will be a father ^G3962 to you,

And you shall be sons ^G5207 and daughters ^G2364 to Me,”

Says ^G3004 the Lord ^G2962 Almighty ^G3841.
