Joseph Deals Kindly with His Brothers

1 Then Joseph ^H3130 could ^H3201 not control ^H662 himself in front of everyone ^H3605 standing ^H5324 before ^H5921 him, and he shouted ^H7121, “Have everyone ^H3605 leave ^H3318 H4480 me!” So there [fn]was no ^H3808 one ^H376 with him when Joseph ^H3130 made ^H3045 himself known ^H3045 to his brothers ^H251.

2 Then he [fn]wept ^{H5414 H6963 H1065} so loudly ^H6963 that the Egyptians ^H4714 heard ^H8085 it, and the household ^H1004 of Pharaoh ^H6547 heard ^H8085 about it. 3 And Joseph ^H3130 said ^H559 to his brothers ^H251, “I am Joseph ^H3130! Is my father ^H1 still ^H5750 alive ^H2416?” But his brothers ^H251 could ^H3201 not answer ^H6030 him, for they were terrified ^H926 in his presence ^H6440.

4 Then Joseph ^H3130 said ^H559 to his brothers ^H251, “Please ^H4994 come ^H5066 [fn]closer ^H5066 to me.” And they came ^H5066 [fn]closer ^H5066. And he said ^H559, “I am your brother ^H251 Joseph ^H3130, whom ^H834 you sold ^H4376 to Egypt ^H4714. 5 Now ^H6258 do not be grieved ^H6087 or angry ^H2734 [fn]with yourselves ^H5869 because ^H3588 you sold ^H4376 me here ^H2008, for God ^H430 sent ^H7971 me ahead ^H6440 of you [fn]to save ^H4241 lives ^H4241. 6 For the famine ^H7458 has been in the land ^H776 these ^H2088 two years ^H8141, and there are still ^H5750 five ^H2568 years ^H8141 in which ^H834 there ^H369 will ^H369 be ^H369 neither ^H369 plowing ^H2758 nor ^H369 harvesting ^H7105. 7 So God ^H430 sent ^H7971 me ahead ^H6440 of you to ensure ^H7760 for you a remnant ^H7611 on the earth ^H776, and to [fn]keep ^H2421 you alive ^H2421 by a great ^H1419 deliverance ^H6413. 8 Now ^H6258, therefore, it was not you who sent ^H7971 me here ^H2008, but God ^H430; and He has made ^H7760 me a father ^H1 to Pharaoh ^H6547 and lord ^H113 of all ^H3605 his household ^H1004, and ruler ^H4910 over all ^H3605 the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714. 9 Hurry ^H4116 and go ^H5927 up ^H5927 to my father ^H1, and say ^H559 to him, ‘This ^H3541 is ^H3541 what ^H3541 your son ^H1121 Joseph ^H3130 says ^H559: “God ^H430 has made ^H7760 me lord ^H113 of all ^H3605 Egypt ^H4714; come ^H3381 down ^H3381 to me, do not delay ^H5975. 10 For you shall live ^H3427 in the land ^H776 of Goshen ^H1657, and you shall be near ^H7138 me, you and your children ^H1121 and your [fn]grandchildren ^H1121, and your flocks ^H6629 and your herds ^H1241 and all ^H3605 that you have. 11 There ^H8033 I will also provide ^H3557 for you, for there are still ^H5750 five ^H2568 years ^H8141 of famine ^H7458 to come, and you and your household ^H1004 and all ^H3605 that you have would be impoverished ^H3423.”’ 12 Behold ^H2009, your eyes ^H5869 see ^H7200, and the eyes ^H5869 of my brother ^H251 Benjamin ^H1144 see, that it is my mouth ^H6310 which is speaking ^H1696 to you. 13 Now you must tell ^H5046 my father ^H1 of all ^H3605 my splendor ^H3519 in Egypt ^H4714, and all ^H3605 that you have seen ^H7200; and you must hurry ^H4116 and bring ^H3381 my father ^H1 down ^H3381 here ^H2008.” 14 Then he fell ^H5307 on his brother ^H251 Benjamin’s ^H1144 neck ^H6677 and wept ^H1058, and Benjamin ^H1144 wept ^H1058 on his neck ^H6677. 15 And he kissed ^H5401 all ^H3605 his brothers ^H251 and wept ^H1058 on them, and afterward ^H310 H3651 his brothers ^H251 talked ^H1696 with him.

16 Now when the [fn]news ^H6963 was heard ^H8085 in Pharaoh’s ^H6547 house ^H1004 [fn]that Joseph’s ^H3130 brothers ^H251 had come ^H935, it [fn]pleased ^H3190 H5869 Pharaoh ^H6547 and his servants ^H5650. 17 Then Pharaoh ^H6547 said ^H559 to Joseph ^H3130, “Say ^H559 to your brothers ^H251, ‘Do ^H6213 this ^H2088: load ^H2943 your livestock ^H1165 and [fn]go ^H1980 H935 to the land ^H776 of Canaan ^H3667, 18 and take ^H3947 your father ^H1 and your households ^H1004 and come ^H935 to me; and I will give ^H5414 you the [fn]best ^H2898 of the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714, and you will eat ^H398 the fat ^H2459 of the land ^H776.’ 19 Now you are ordered ^H6680, ‘Do ^H6213 this ^H2088: [fn]take ^H3947 wagons ^H5699 from the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714 for your little ^H2945 ones ^H2945 and for your wives ^H802, and bring ^H5375 your father ^H1 and come ^H935. 20 And do not [fn]concern ^H2347 H5869 yourselves ^H5869 with your property ^H3627, for the [fn]best ^H2898 of all ^H3605 the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714 is yours.’”

21 Then the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 did ^H6213 so ^H3651; and Joseph ^H3130 gave ^H5414 them wagons ^H5699 according ^H5921 to the [fn]command ^H6310 of Pharaoh ^H6547, and gave ^H5414 them provisions ^H6720 for the journey ^H1870. 22 To [fn]each ^H3605 H376 of them he gave ^H5414 changes ^H2487 of garments ^H8071, but to Benjamin ^H1144 he gave ^H5414 three ^H7969 hundred ^H3967 pieces of silver ^H3701 and five ^H2568 changes ^H2487 of garments ^H8071. 23 And to his father ^H1 he sent ^H7971 [fn]the following ^H2088: ten ^H6235 male ^H2543 donkeys ^H2543 loaded ^H5375 with the [fn]best ^H2898 things ^H2898 of Egypt ^H4714, ten ^H6235 female ^H860 donkeys ^H860 loaded ^H5375 with grain ^H1250, bread ^H3899, and sustenance ^H4202 for his father ^H1 [fn]on the journey ^H1870.

24 So he sent ^H7971 his brothers ^H251 away ^H7971, and [fn]as they departed ^H1980, he said ^H559 to them, “Do not [fn]quarrel ^H7264 on the journey ^H1870.” 25 Then they went ^H5927 up ^H5927 from Egypt ^H4714, and came ^H935 to the land ^H776 of Canaan ^H3667, to their father ^H1 Jacob ^H3290. 26 And they told ^H5046 him, saying ^H559, “Joseph ^H3130 is still ^H5750 alive ^H2416, and indeed ^H3588 he is ruler ^H4910 over all ^H3605 the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714.” But [fn]he was stunned ^H6313, for he did not believe ^H539 them. 27 When they told ^H1696 him all ^H3605 the words ^H1697 of Joseph ^H3130 that he had spoken ^H1696 to them, and when he saw ^H7200 the wagons ^H5699 that Joseph ^H3130 had sent ^H7971 to carry ^H5375 him, then the spirit ^H7307 of their father ^H1 Jacob ^H3290 revived ^H2421. 28 Then Israel ^H3478 said ^H559, “It is enough ^H7227; my son ^H1121 Joseph ^H3130 is still ^H5750 alive ^H2416. I will go ^H1980 and see ^H7200 him before ^H2962 I die ^H4191.”
