Message to Baruch
1 This is the message H1697 which H834 Jeremiah H3414 the prophet H5030 spoke H1696 to Baruch H1263 the son H1121 of Neriah H5374, when he had written H3789 these H428 words H1697 in a book H5612 [fn]at Jeremiah’s H3414 dictation H6310, in the fourth H7243 year H8141 of Jehoiakim H3079 the son H1121 of Josiah H2977, king H4428 of Judah H3063, saying H559:
2 “This H3541 is H3541 what H3541 the LORD H3068, the God H430 of Israel H3478 says H559 to you, Baruch H1263: 3 ‘You said H559, “Oh H4994, woe H188 to me! For the LORD H3068 has added H3254 grief H3015 to my pain H4341; I am weary H3021 with my groaning H603 and have found H4672 no H3808 rest H4496.”’ 4 This H3541 is H3541 what H3541 you are to say H559 to him: ‘This H3541 is H3541 what H3541 the LORD H3068 says H559: “Behold H2009, what H834 I have built H1129 I am going to tear H2040 down H2040, and what H834 I have planted H5193 I am going to uproot H5428, that is, all H3605 the people of the land H776.” 5 But as for you, are you seeking H1245 great H1419 things H1419 for yourself? Do not seek H1245 them; for behold H2009, I am going to bring H935 disaster H7451 on all H3605 flesh H1320,’ declares H5002 the LORD H3068, ‘but I will give H5414 your life H5315 to you as plunder H7998 in all H3605 the places H4725 where H834 H8033 you may go H1980.’”
