Law of the Nazirites

1 Again the LORD ^H3068 spoke ^H1696 to Moses ^H4872, saying ^H559,

2 “Speak ^H1696 to the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 and say ^H559 to them, ‘When ^H3588 a man ^H376 or ^H176 woman ^H802 makes ^H6381 [fn]a ^H6381 special ^H6381 vow ^H5087, namely, the vow ^H5088 of a [fn]Nazirite ^H5139, to live ^H5144 as ^H5144 a ^H5144 Nazirite ^H5144 for the LORD ^H3068, 3 he shall abstain ^H5144 from wine ^H3196 and [fn]strong ^H7941 drink ^H7941; he shall [fn]consume ^H8354 no ^H3808 vinegar ^H2558, whether made from wine ^H3196 or strong ^H7941 drink ^H7941, nor ^H3808 shall he drink ^H8354 any ^H3605 grape ^H6025 juice ^H4952 nor ^H3808 eat ^H398 fresh ^H3892 or dried ^H3002 grapes ^H6025. 4 All ^H3605 the days ^H3117 of his consecration ^H5145 he shall not eat ^H398 anything ^H4480 H3605 that is produced ^H6213 from the grape ^H3196 vine ^H1612, from the seeds ^H2785 even to the skin ^H2085.

5 ‘All ^H3605 the days ^H3117 of his vow ^H5088 of consecration ^H5145 no ^H3808 razor ^H8593 shall pass ^H5674 over ^H5921 his head ^H7218. He shall be holy ^H6918 until ^H5704 the days ^H3117 are fulfilled ^H4390 which ^H834 he lives ^H5144 as ^H5144 a ^H5144 Nazirite ^H5144 for the LORD ^H3068; he shall let the locks ^H6545 of hair ^H8181 on his head ^H7218 grow ^H1431 long ^H1431.

6 ‘All ^H3605 the days ^H3117 of his life ^H5144 as ^H5144 a ^H5144 Nazirite ^H5144 for the LORD ^H3068 he shall not come ^H935 up to a dead ^H4191 person ^H5315. 7 He shall not make ^H2930 himself unclean ^H2930 for his father ^H1 or for his mother ^H517, for his brother ^H251 or for his sister ^H269, when they die ^H4194, because ^H3588 his consecration ^H5145 to God ^H430 is [fn]on his head ^H7218. 8 All ^H3605 the days ^H3117 of his consecration ^H5145 he is holy ^H6918 to the LORD ^H3068.

9 ‘But if ^H3588 someone dies ^H4191 very ^H6621 suddenly ^H6597 beside ^H5921 him and he defiles ^H2930 his consecrated ^H5145 head ^H7218 of hair, then he shall shave ^H1548 his head ^H7218 on the day ^H3117 when he becomes ^H2893 clean ^H2893; he shall shave ^H1548 it on the seventh ^H7637 day ^H3117. 10 Then on the eighth ^H8066 day ^H3117 he shall bring ^H935 two ^H8147 turtledoves ^H8449 or ^H176 two ^H8147 young ^H1121 doves ^H3123 to the priest ^H3548, to the entrance ^H6607 of the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150. 11 And the priest ^H3548 shall offer ^H6213 one ^H259 as a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403 and the other ^H259 as a burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930, and make ^H3722 atonement ^H3722 for him [fn]regarding ^H4480 H834 his sin ^H2398 because ^H5921 of the dead person ^H5315. And on that same ^H1931 day ^H3117 he shall consecrate ^H6942 his head ^H7218, 12 and shall live ^H5144 his days ^H3117 of consecration ^H5145 as ^H5144 a ^H5144 Nazirite ^H5144 for the LORD ^H3068, and shall bring ^H935 a male ^H3532 lamb ^H3532 a year ^H8141 old ^H1121 as a guilt ^H817 offering ^H817; but the preceding ^H7223 days ^H3117 will [fn]not ^H5307 count ^H5307, because ^H3588 his consecration ^H5145 was defiled ^H2930.

13 ‘Now this ^H2088 is the law ^H8451 of the Nazirite ^H5139 when ^H3117 the days ^H3117 of his consecration ^H5145 are fulfilled ^H4390: he shall bring ^H935 [fn]his offering to the entrance ^H6607 of the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150. 14 And he shall present ^H7126 his offering ^H7133 to the LORD ^H3068: one ^H259 male ^H3532 lamb ^H3532 a year ^H8141 old ^H1121 without ^H8549 defect ^H8549 as a burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930, one ^H259 ewe ^H3535 lamb ^H3535 a year ^H8141 old ^H1323 without ^H8549 defect ^H8549 as a sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403, one ^H259 ram ^H352 without ^H8549 defect ^H8549 as a peace ^H8002 offering ^H8002, 15 and a basket ^H5536 of unleavened ^H4682 loaves ^H2471 of fine ^H5560 flour ^H5560 mixed ^H1101 with oil ^H8081 and unleavened ^H4682 wafers ^H7550 spread ^H4886 with oil ^H8081, along with their grain offering ^H4503 and their drink ^H5262 offering ^H4503. 16 Then the priest ^H3548 shall present ^H7126 them before ^H6440 the LORD ^H3068 and offer ^H6213 his sin ^H2403 offering ^H2403 and his burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930. 17 He shall also offer ^H6213 the ram ^H352 as a sacrifice ^H2077 of peace ^H8002 offerings ^H8002 to the LORD ^H3068, together ^H5921 with the basket ^H5536 of unleavened ^H4682 bread ^H4682; the priest ^H3548 shall also offer ^H6213 its grain offering ^H4503 and its drink ^H5262 offering ^H5262. 18 The Nazirite ^H5139 shall then shave ^H1548 his consecrated ^H5145 head ^H7218 of hair at the entrance ^H6607 of the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150, and take ^H3947 the consecrated ^H5145 hair ^H8181 of his head ^H7218 and put ^H5414 it on the fire ^H784 which ^H834 is under ^H8478 the sacrifice ^H2077 of peace ^H8002 offerings ^H8002. 19 And the priest ^H3548 shall take ^H3947 the ram’s ^H352 shoulder ^H2220 when it has been boiled ^H1311, and one ^H259 unleavened ^H4682 loaf ^H2471 from the basket ^H5536 and one ^H259 unleavened ^H4682 wafer ^H7550, and shall put ^H5414 them on the [fn]hands ^H3709 of the Nazirite ^H5139 after ^H310 he has shaved ^H1548 his consecrated ^H5145 hair. 20 Then the priest ^H3548 shall wave ^H5130 them as a wave ^H8573 offering ^H8573 before ^H6440 the LORD ^H3068. It is holy ^H6944 for the priest ^H3548, together ^H5921 with the breast ^H2373 offered as a wave ^H8573 offering ^H8573, and the thigh ^H7785 offered as [fn]a contribution ^H8641; and afterward ^H310 the Nazirite ^H5139 may drink ^H8354 wine ^H3196.’

21 “This ^H2088 is the law ^H8451 of the Nazirite ^H5139 who ^H834 vows ^H5087 his offering ^H7133 to the LORD ^H3068 according ^H5921 to his consecration ^H5145, in ^H4480 H905 addition ^H4480 H905 to ^H4480 H905 what ^H834 else [fn]he can afford ^H5381; corresponding ^H6310 to his vow ^H5088 which ^H834 he makes ^H5087, so ^H3651 he shall do ^H6213 according ^H5921 to the law ^H8451 of his consecration ^H5145.”

Aaron’s Benediction

22 Then the LORD ^H3068 spoke ^H1696 to Moses ^H4872, saying ^H559,

23 “Speak ^H1696 to Aaron ^H175 and to his sons ^H1121, saying ^H559, ‘In ^H3541 this ^H3541 way ^H3541 you shall bless ^H1288 the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478. You are to say ^H559 to them:

24 The LORD ^H3068 bless ^H1288 you, and [fn]keep ^H8104 you;

25 The LORD ^H3068 cause ^H215 His face ^H6440 to ^H215 shine ^H215 on you,

And be ^H2603 gracious ^H2603 to you;

26 The LORD ^H3068 lift ^H5375 up ^H5375 His face ^H6440 to you,

And give ^H7760 you peace ^H7965.’

27 So they shall [fn]invoke ^H7760 My name ^H8034 on the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478, and then I will bless ^H1288 them.”
