PSALM 66
Praise for God’s Mighty Deeds and for His Answer to Prayer.
For the music director. A Song. A Psalm.
1 Shout H7321 joyfully H7321 to God H430, all H3605 the earth H776;
2 Sing H2167 the glory H3519 of His name H8034;
Make H7760 His praise H8416 glorious H3519.
3 Say H559 to God H430, “How H4100 awesome H3372 are Your works H4639!
Because of the greatness H7230 of Your power H5797 Your enemies H340 will pretend H3584 to H3584 obey H3584 You.
4 “All H3605 the earth H776 will worship H2331 You,
And will sing H2167 praises H2167 to You;
They will sing H2167 praises H2167 to Your name H8034.” Selah H5542
5 Come H1980 and see H7200 the works H4659 of God H430,
Who is awesome H3372 in His deeds H5949 toward H5921 the sons H1121 of mankind H120.
6 He turned H2015 the sea H3220 into dry H3004 land H3004;
They passed H5674 through the river H5104 on foot H7272;
Let’s rejoice H8055 there H8033, in Him!
7 He rules H4910 by His might H1369 forever H5703;
His eyes H5869 keep H6822 watch H6822 on the nations H1471;
The rebellious H5637 shall not exalt H7311 themselves! Selah H5542
8 Bless H1288 our God H430, you peoples H5971,
And [fn]sound H8085 H6963 His praise H8416 abroad,
9 Who [fn]keeps H7760 us in life H2416,
And does not allow H5414 our feet H7272 to [fn]slip H4131.
10 For You have put H974 us to H974 the H974 test H974, God H430;
You have refined H6884 us as silver H3701 is refined H6884.
11 You brought H935 us into the net H4686;
You laid H7760 an oppressive H4157 burden H4157 upon [fn]us H4975.
12 You made men H582 ride H7392 over our heads H7218;
We went H935 through fire H784 and through water H4325.
Yet You brought H3318 us out H3318 into a place of abundance H7310.
13 I shall come H935 into Your house H1004 with burnt H5930 offerings H5930;
I shall pay H7999 You my vows H5088,
14 Which H834 my lips H8193 uttered H6475
And my mouth H6310 spoke H1696 when I was in distress H6862.
15 I shall offer H5927 to You burnt H5930 offerings H5930 of fat H4220 animals H4220,
With the smoke H7004 of rams H352;
I shall make H6213 an offering of [fn]bulls H1241 with male H6260 goats H6260. Selah H5542
16 Come H1980 and hear H8085, all H3605 who [fn]fear H3372 God H430,
And I will tell H5608 of what H834 He has done H6213 for my soul H5315.
17 I cried H7121 to Him with my mouth H6310,
And [fn]He was exalted H7311 with my tongue H3956.
18 If H518 I [fn]regard H7200 wickedness H205 in my heart H3820,
The Lord H136 will not hear H8085;
19 But God H430 has heard H8085;
He has given H7181 attention H7181 to the sound H6963 of my prayer H8605.
