The Beast from the Sea

1 And the dragon stood ^G2476 on the sand ^G285 of the [fn]seashore ^G2281.

Then ^G2532 I saw ^G3708 a beast ^G2342 coming ^G305 up ^G305 out of the sea ^G2281, having ^G2192 ten ^G1176 horns ^G2768 and seven ^G2033 heads ^G2776, and on his horns ^G2768 were ten ^G1176 crowns ^G1238, and on his heads ^G2776 were blasphemous ^G988 names ^G3686.

2 And the beast ^G2342 that I saw ^G3708 was like ^G3664 a leopard ^G3917, and his feet ^G4228 were like ^G3664 those of a bear ^G715, and his mouth ^G4750 like ^G5613 the mouth ^G4750 of a lion ^G3023. And the dragon ^G1404 gave ^G1325 him his power ^G1411 and his throne ^G2362, and great ^G3173 authority ^G1849. 3 I saw one ^G1520 of his heads ^G2776 as if ^G5613 it had been ^G4969 [fn]fatally ^G2288 wounded ^G4969, and his fatal ^G2288 wound ^G4127 was healed ^G2323. Here ^G5602 is the [fn]perseverance ^G5281 and the faith ^G4102 of the [fn]saints ^G40.

The Beast from the Earth

11 Then ^G2532 I saw ^G3708 another ^G243 beast ^G2342 coming ^G305 up ^G305 out of the earth ^G1093; and he had ^G2192 two ^G1417 horns ^G2768 like ^G3664 a lamb ^G721, and he spoke ^G2980 as a dragon ^G1404.

12 He exercises ^G4160 all ^G3956 the authority ^G1849 of the first ^G4413 beast ^G2342 [fn]in ^G1799 his presence ^G1799. Let him who has ^G2192 understanding ^G3563 calculate ^G5585 the number ^G706 of the beast ^G2342, for the number ^G706 is that of a [fn]man ^G444; and his number ^G706 is [fn]six ^G1812 hundred ^G1812 and sixty-six ^{G1812 G1835 G1803}.
