The Marriage of Ruth

1 Now Boaz ^H1162 went ^H5927 up ^H5927 to the gate ^H8179 and sat ^H3427 down ^H3427 there ^H8033, and behold ^H2009, the redeemer ^H1350 of whom ^H834 Boaz ^H1162 spoke ^H1696 was passing ^H5674 by ^H5674, so he said ^H559, “Come ^H5493 over ^H5493 here ^H5493, [fn]friend ^H6423 H492, sit ^H3427 down ^H3427 here ^H6311.” And he came ^H5493 over ^H5493 and sat ^H3427 down ^H3427.

13 So Boaz ^H1162 took ^H3947 Ruth ^H7327, and she became ^H1961 his wife ^H802, and he had ^H935 relations ^H935 with ^H935 her. And the LORD ^H3068 [fn]enabled ^H5414 her to conceive ^H2032, and she gave ^H3205 birth ^H3205 to a son ^H1121. 14 Then the women ^H802 said ^H559 to Naomi ^H5281, “Blessed ^H1288 is the LORD ^H3068 who ^H834 has not left ^H7673 you without ^H7673 a redeemer ^H1350 today ^H3117, and may his name ^H8034 [fn]become ^H7121 famous ^H7121 in Israel ^H3478. 15 May he also be to you one who restores ^H7725 life ^H5315 and sustains ^H3557 your old ^H7872 age ^H7872; for your daughter-in-law ^H3618, who ^H834 loves ^H157 you [fn]and is better ^H2896 to you than ^H4480 seven ^H7651 sons ^H1121, has given ^H3205 birth ^H3205 to him.”

16 Then Naomi ^H5281 took ^H3947 the child ^H3206 and [fn]laid ^H7896 him in her lap ^H2436, and became ^H1961 his nurse ^H539. 17 And the neighbor ^H7934 women ^H7934 gave ^H7121 him a name ^H8034, saying ^H559, “A son ^H1121 has been born ^H3205 to Naomi ^H5281!” So they named ^H7121 H8034 him Obed ^H5744. He is the father ^H1 of Jesse ^H3448, the father ^H1 of David ^H1732.

18 Now these ^H428 are the generations ^H8435 of Perez ^H6557: Perez ^H6557 fathered ^H3205 Hezron ^H2696, 19 Hezron ^H2696 fathered ^H3205 Ram ^H7410, and Ram ^H7410 fathered ^H3205 Amminadab ^H5992, 20 and Amminadab ^H5992 fathered ^H3205 Nahshon ^H5177, and Nahshon ^H5177 fathered ^H3205 Salmon ^H8009, 21 and Salmon ^H8012 fathered ^H3205 Boaz ^H1162, and Boaz ^H1162 fathered ^H3205 Obed ^H5744, 22 and Obed ^H5744 fathered ^H3205 Jesse ^H3448, and Jesse ^H3448 fathered ^H3205 David ^H1732.
