“The Royal Invitation” is one of five devotional books contained in the Royal Gems collection written by Frances Ridley Havergal in the 1880s. In our original edition of Royal Gems, a beautiful cursive handwriting decorates the inside cover with a name and the date of March 22, 1896. We can only imagine how often the recipient read and gleaned from the riches within. Nearly 120 years later however, we are also privileged to partake of this Scripture-filled devotional, now in a digital format.
“The Royal Invitation” is a 31 day devotional book that embraces the many requests from God’s Word for us to ‘come’ to Him. When Jesus said to the disciples “Come follow Me,” it was a royal invitation of His kingly love, which He offers to us even now. Indulge your heart with this wonderfully-composed devotional that will bless your soul and elicit praises for our King of kings.
We highly value the spiritual content of writings from the saints who have gone before us, and it is a privilege to be able to offer enhanced digital versions to our users. Converting an original book into digital format requires extensive work, including scanning the original book, editing the scanned pages, and capturing characters. We then thoroughly proofread and carefully edit the document to improve the readability of ancient publications. Our digital books may receive the following features:
Prior to purchasing a digital book, confirm which file is required for the e-reader application that you intend to use. If you have problems downloading the digital product, please refer to the free e-reader application links below. If you do not currently have an e-reader, the Kindle e-reader might be a good place to start, and can be downloaded to your computer, tablet, or smartphone for free. Calibre is also well regarded for your computer.
Kindle purchases from the Amazon Kindle Store can be read on Kindle e-readers only.
Amazon's Kindle Personal Document Service offers ways to automatically sync your MOBI and PDF files, so that your notes, highlights, and bookmarks can be synced to all of your devices that have Kindle-based applications.
The BLB digital edition of “The Royal Invitation” is available for purchase at the Amazon Kindle Store. However, we encourage our users to purchase digital books in the MOBI format for Kindle reading due to the significantly lower income that we receive from Amazon Kindle Store purchases.

The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
