Bethmaachah:
(house of oppression) a place named only in 2 Samuel 20:14-15. In the absence of more information we can only conclude that it is identical with Maachah or Aram‐maachah, one of the petty Syrian kingdoms in the north of Palestine (compare 2 Kings 15:29).
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
