Shearinghouse, The:
a place on the road between Jezreel and Samaria, at which Jehu, on his way to the latter, encountered forty‐two members of the royal family of Judah, whom he slaughtered (2 Kings 10:12; 10:14). Eusebius mentions it as a village of Samaria "in the great plain (of Esdraelon) 15, miles from Legion."
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
