Arimathea:
a "city of the Jews" (Luk 23:51), the birth-place of Joseph in whose sepulchre our Lord was laid (Mat 27:57,60; Jhn 19:38). It is probably the same place as Ramathaim in Ephraim, and the birth-place of Samuel (1Sa 1:1,19). Others identify it with Ramleh in Dan, or Rama (q.v.) in Benjamin (Mat 2:18).
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
