Dedan:
low ground. (1.) A son of Raamah (Gen 10:7). His descendants are mentioned in Isa 21:13, and Eze 27:15. They probably settled among the sons of Cush, on the north-west coast of the Persian Gulf.
(2.) A son of Jokshan, Abraham's son by Keturah (1Ch 1:32). His descendants settled on the Syrian borders about the territory of Edom. They probably led a pastoral life.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
