Kenizzite:
(1.) The name of a tribe referred to in the covenant God made with Abraham (Gen 15:19). They are not mentioned among the original inhabitants of Canaan (Exd 3:8; Jos 3:10), and probably they inhabited some part of Arabia, in the confines of Syria.
(2.) A designation given to Caleb (Num 32:12; A.V., Kenezite).
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
